Paddock Missionary
The Paddock Missionary soci
ety met Wednesday at the home
of Mrs. Ed Kaczor. Nine ladies
were present. They tied baby
blankets and are preparing cloth
ing for the missionaries. The
next meeting will be held with
Mrs. Laurence Rouse the third
Friday of the month. It was
changed this week on account of
the George Mellor sale.
A very large crowd attended
the Ge>orge Mellor farm sale
Friday afternoon. The Metho
dist ladies, Spencer, served the
lunch and ran out of supplies.
They made a hurried trip to
town to replenish their stock.
Supper gjests Thursday at
Christine Johnson’s were Mr. and
Mrs. Sam Robertson, Mr. and
Mrs. Henry Walters and Norma,
Mr. and Mrs. George Nelson and
family and Cora Claussen, eve
ning callers were Mr. and Mrs.
Dewayne Anson and girls, Mr.
and Mrs. Merlin Anderson and
girls, Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Joh
ring and family and Mr. and
Mrs. Allen Walters and boys.
The occasion marked Christine’s
birthday.

ning visitors at the Dave Jensen
home.
Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Rouse
and family were Thursday night
visitors at the Virgil Hubby
home.

bly of God church had a get-to

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Worth and
family, Carter Lake, la., spent
the weekend with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lindberg.
Mrs. Ina Worth, (Roy’s mo
ther) who has spent the past two
weeks with her daughter and
family, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph
Wetzler, Verdigre, accompanied
them home.
Several families from this com
munity attended the funeral of
Mrs. A. Johnson at Bristow Sat
urday. Agnes Rouse was born
and grew up in this community.
Mrs. Bill LaFortune and Mrs.
Valerie Clifton, Denver, Colo.,
have 'been visiting with friends
and relatives. Mrs. LaFortune
was the former Hazel Harding
and Mrs. Clifton, the former Mil
lie Coats.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Devall and *
Delia Harrison spent Tuesday at
the Ed Thomas home, Emmet. I
Valentine day was observed at
Meek school, also District I with 1
a party for the children. The pu->
pils enjoyed the fun of cranking 1
up their own ice cream and
brought home made cakes for
their lunch treat at District I.
Frank Nelson made a business
trip to Burwell Wednesday. Sun
day they entertained for dinner
Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Hubby, Mr.
and Mrs. Paul Nelson and Mr.
and Mrs. Ed Kaczor The occasion

Mr. and Mrs. Austin Searles
and girls were supper guests Fri
day at the Vernon Lorenz home,
other guests were Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Ernst, Mrs. Craig Con
nell and children, Newport and
Mr. and Mrs. Otto Lorenz and
Gordon. The occasion was Otto
and Clara’s belated 35th wedding
anniversary.
Mr and Mrs. Allen Walters
and boys visited at the Don Rich
home, Dakota City, Sunday and
Monday and were Wednesday
evening visitors at the Russell
Woeppel home, Ewing.
Larry and Sue Nelson enter
tained the 4- H club Monday
evening at the George Nelson
home. Leaders were selected
for different project*. Pamela
Crawford and Carla Anion Join
ed the dub. The next meeting
to be April 13 at the Dewayne
Anion home.

PCA meeting Tuesday at O’Neill.

aha, came Saturday. Both fami
lies left Sunday. Mr. and Mrs B

were Sunday dinner guests.

night guest Monday of Sharon
and Carla Anson.

and Connie and Mr. and Mrs Don
Hynes and Tillie attended a cat
tle sale at Valentine Wednesday.
On the way home they visited
Oswalds brother and family, Mr.
and Mrs. L. A. Drjeke, Ains
worth.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Walters
were supper guests at Christine
Johnsons Sunday evening.
Roger Rosenkrans and Jerry
were Sunday visitors at the Fred
Lindberg home.
Mrs. John Schmitz returned
home from Omaha Friday but
John is remaining for more
treatments.
Mr. and Mrs. Bud Mitchell and
Mrs. Bill Crawford, Chambers,
made a trip to Omaha Tuesday
where Bud had a medical check

Dun Spahn and family at the St.
John’s basement Thursday eve
ning. Mr. and Mrs Kiefer, and
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gokie of Nor
folk were present for the supper
and party. The Spahns plan to
leave about February 20 for their
new home in Oregon
Howard Temple, Hastings, had
minor surgery Monday
Mrs. Mary Steams and Mrs.
Maynard Steams called on Mr.
and Mrs. Will Conner in Ewing
recently. Mrs. Conner was taken
to the O’Neill hospital last week.
Mrs. L. L. Bartak and Mrs. Bill
Gibbs and daughter were Norfolk
visitors Friday.
Mrs. Glenn Harpster spent two

mother.
George Keller, Ewing, did some
