Tom Hunt, Danny Holselaw, Coney Tomlinson, Jeff Kymann, Billy
Richardson, Steve Forwood and Jim Davidson. Advanced to first
class were Mike McGarvtlle and Eymann. Second class advancements
went to Stutz, Bob MoCarvtlle, French, Schrnit, Spelts, Hunt, HoIm
claw, Richardson, Forwood and Davidson. Tomlinson was Invested
in Tenderfoot rites.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Smith went
to Alda last Friday where they
visited their son and daughter
in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Smith
jr. When they arrived home Sun
day evening, they were Sjrpris
ed to find they were “guests”
in their own home, as several of
their children and their families
and friends had gathered there
with f<x>d and were enjoying a
family dinner. Those attending
were Mr. and Mrs. William Mor
gan and family, Mr. and Mrs.
Ronald Frickel, Mr. and Mrs.
Connie Frickel and Kurt, Mr. and
Mrs. Lawrence Pacha, Clifford
Pacha, Albert Smith and family,.
Special Cattle Sale
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 19
We can sure use a lot more cattle for this Special Sale as
there are plenty of eastern buyers looking for all classes.
The market last Monday was very active and looked fully
steady. Sold a little over 800 head.
Sold over .500 hogs on a steady to a little lower market. Top
at $17.20 and went to Kenneth Kuggless of Emmet, Frank Murphy
of Stuart and John Ramold of O’Neill.

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Frickcl
came from Lincoln Friday to
spend the weekend with relatives
and friends. They returned home
Sunday evening.
Jack Smith came last Friday
from Port Walton Beach, Fla.,
to visit his mother, Mrs. Rena
Smith, for a few days. Jack is
employed by the telephone com
pany there.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Smith at
tened the wrestling matches in
Grand Island last Saturday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Denton Colfack
and Wanda were last Sunday eve
ning callers at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Don Putnam and fam
ily.
Albert .Smith and family spent
Sunday afternoon in Atkinson
visiting Mrs. Smith, who is in
the Atkinson Memorial hospital,
and getting acquainted with the
new member of the family. The
little Miss made her “debut”
Saturday night.
The Sunday night pitch club
met at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Carl Schenzel in O’Neill. Prizes
were won by Mrs. Pat Madcalf,
William Wefso, Emil Colfack and
Mrs. LeRcy McMullen. The next
meeting place will be with Mr.
and Mrs. LeRoy McMullen.
William Wefso was a Sunday
afternoon caller at the A. J. Run
nelis home in Stuart.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer McClurg
were last Sunday afternoon and
supper guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Mulford.
Mr. and Mrs. Frances Johnson.
O'Neill, visited in the home of
Mrs. Rena Smith, where they
were dinner and supper guests.
Mr. Johnsos had cattle on the
local market that day also.

Prices received for livestock,
hay and grain at the Nielsen dis
persion sale on the old Trussel
place east of Chambers Friday
were considered very good. The
American Legion Auxiliary, Post
320, Chambers served lunch. They
report a profit of $30.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Beed and
children, Lincoln, spent the week
end with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Raymond Beed and Judy.
Funeral services were conduct
ed Friday, Feb. 9 at Redmond,
Ore., for Clifford Marquis, 89. On
the morning of the funeral Mrs.
Marquis fell and broke her hip.
Her address is Mrs. Clif Marquis,
c/o hospital, Redmond, Ore. Mr.
Marqjis was the father of Mrs.
Mark Gribble, Chambers. Mrs.
Marquis is a sister-in-law of Mrs.
Cordia Smith, Mrs. W. A. Smith,
Mrs. Fred Smith and Mrs. Ed
Smith, all of Chambers.
Irven Peltzer, West Point, has
been visiting in the home of his
brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and
Mrs. A. A. Walter, and brother
