The local contest is spon sored by the Farley-Tushla Post No. 86 of which William Morgan is commander. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Frickcl came from Lincoln Friday to spend the weekend with relatives and friends. They returned home Sunday evening. Jack Smith came last Friday from Port Walton Beach, Fla., to visit his mother, Mrs. Rena Smith, for a few days. Jack is employed by the telephone com pany there. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Smith at tened the wrestling matches in Grand Island last Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs. Denton Colfack and Wanda were last Sunday eve ning callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Don Putnam and fam ily. Albert .Smith and family spent Sunday afternoon in Atkinson visiting Mrs. Smith, who is in the Atkinson Memorial hospital, and getting acquainted with the new member of the family. The little Miss made her “debut” Saturday night. The Sunday night pitch club met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Schenzel in O’Neill. Prizes were won by Mrs. Pat Madcalf, William Wefso, Emil Colfack and Mrs. LeRcy McMullen. The next meeting place will be with Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy McMullen. William Wefso was a Sunday afternoon caller at the A. J. Run nelis home in Stuart. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer McClurg were last Sunday afternoon and supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mulford. Carpenter Prices received for livestock, hay and grain at the Nielsen dis persion sale on the old Trussel place east of Chambers Friday were considered very good. The American Legion Auxiliary, Post 320, Chambers served lunch. They report a profit of $30. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Beed and children, Lincoln, spent the week end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Beed and Judy. Funeral services were conduct ed Friday, Feb. 9 at Redmond, Ore., for Clifford Marquis, 89. On the morning of the funeral Mrs. Marquis fell and broke her hip. Her address is Mrs. Clif Marquis, c/o hospital, Redmond, Ore. Mr. Marqjis was the father of Mrs. Mark Gribble, Chambers. Mrs. Marquis is a sister-in-law of Mrs. Cordia Smith, Mrs. W. A.
