Virgil Miller arrived I lec ember 8 at his home at Verd.gre from Fort Ord, Calif , where he ha* l»een a memlier of the National Guard for the past six months. His basic training was at Ft. lyonard Wood. Mo Virgil is the son of Mr and Mrs Irvin Miller, former residents of this community. Mrs Homer Barton accompa nied Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Schacht to Columbus Saturday where they visited at the Douglas Barton home and at the hospi * tai with Mrs Barton rad baby daughter, Janice Sue .Mr. iuid Mrs. Arthur holler and family have moved to Oh- 1 inond from their home lit Venus. Mrs. Francis Montgomery and Mrs. Arthur Neuhaus were visitors. At the business meeting the of ficers elected were Mrs. Arne Pierce, president; Mrs. H. A. Block, vice president; Mrs. Rich ard Cook, treasurer, and Mrs. Frit/ C Rokahr, secretary. The annual Christmas party was held December 18. Visitors Tuesday evenin'* «' t the Harry Caskey home were Mr. and Mrs Ralph Brookhouser and Sharolyn and Kevin Caskey. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Boeder and Rodney were Saturday evening visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs Harry Car" -s. l^ivem O’Neill, were Sunday overnight guests at the Caskey home. Many from this community at tended the funeral of Vincent Jackson’s father, John Jackson, at Creighton, December 9. Mr. and Mrs. George Jeffrey and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Brook houser accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Ora Caskey to Stuart Mon day where they attended the Nebraska School Improvement association meeting that after noon at the Stuart auditorium.
