The double ring ceremony was
performed at 2 p.m. by the Rev.
Hugh Dowler. The soloist was
Mrs. Hugh Dowler, accompanied
by Mrs. J. M. Pucelik, organist.
The bride appeared in a floor
length gown of hand-clipped Chan
tilly lace, an original by Alfred
Angelo. The snug-fitting basque
bodice of lace featured a scallop
ed Sabrina neckline defined by a
delicate sprinkling of iridescent
sequins and seed pearls. The full,
flowing skirt was fashioned with
a front panel of cascading tulle
ruffles edged in imported lace,
ending in an aisle-wide train. Her
triple-tier veil of imported il
lusi n was accented with tiny
seed pearls and was caught by a
crown of iridescent orange blos
soms. She carried a lavender or
chid on a white Bible with cas
cades of lilies of the valley.

The bridegroom was attended
by his brother, Dennis Edwards,
Atkinson. Groomsmen were Den
nis Dumler, Russell, Kan., Nor
man Klasna, Lincoln, and Rolland
Kersch. Danny Dahl and Ronnie
Pcpjpe, Scribner, were ushers.
Following the ceremony there
was a reception for approximate
ly 200 in the church parlor. Mrs.
Bid Johnson acted as hostess,
and Mrs. Ronald Grover, Fre
ni nt, cut the cake. Mrs. Manis
Edwards, Omaha, and Miss Caro
le Enbody, Atkinson, poured.
Mrs. Harold Hume, Norfolk, Miss
Judy Dvorak, Fremont, and the
Misses Donna and Judy Enbody,
Atkinson, served. Mrs. Dennis
Edwards, Atkinson, had charge of
the guestbook, and Miss Jeanette
Osborne, Atkinson, and Mrs. Nor
man Klasna, Lincoln, looked af
ter the gifts.
The bride is a graduate of Spen
cer- high school. She is presently
employed by Anderson’s Jewelers,
Fremont.
Mr. Edwards, who is associated
with the Apco Oil company of Fre
mont, attended Midland college,
Fremont.
After their wedding trip to Es
tes Park, Colo., the couple will
reside at 340 E. 9th Street, Fre
mont.

June 10 in St. Stanislaus Catholic
church at Omaha.
The Rev. S. J. Zukowski offici
ated at the 9 a.m, nuptial mass
and doable ring ceremony
which was performed before an
altar decorated with bouquets of
carnations and mums. The Holy
Name choir provided appropri
ate wedding music, accompanied
by Tom Bogacz at the organ.
A formal length gown of hand
clipped Chantilly lace and illu
sion tulle over summer taffeta
was chosen by the bride. The
Elizabethan bodice featured a
scalloped Sabrina neckline trim
med with sequins and pearls.
Long lace sleeves carried out the
traditional points at the wrists.
The voluminous skirt was defined
with two V. shaped tiers of Chan
tilly lace following the front bri
dal point and falling over stiff
ened petticoats. The veil was

fingertip length, held by a
queen’s crown of rosepoint Chan
tilly lace re-embroidered in seed
pearls. She carried a cascade of
American Beauty roses.
Miss Jeanne Kawa was maid of
honor. Bridesmaids were Miss
Nancy Kawa and Miss Antonette
Kawa. The attendants wore iden
tical ballerina length dresses of
blue organza in shades of blue,
pink and yellow, respectively.
They were styled with scoop neck
lines extending to a V at the
back, and with brief sleeves. The
dome shaped skirts were accent
ed at the midriff with crushed
cummerbunds and a rose fashion
ed of the material was placed at
the center front. Their hats were
taffeta coronet bands trimmed
with circular face veils. They car
ied short cascade bouquets of
Johanna Hill roses.
Serving as best man was Ro
bert V. Miller, brother of the
bridegroom. Ushers were James
L. Miller, brother of the bride
groom, James J. Pilus and Ray
mond A. Pilus, brothers of the
bride. Richard D. Johnson and
Gary K. Goll.
After the reception at the Mu
sik Verein, the couple left on a
wedding trip to the Black Hills.
They will reside in Omaha.

LYNCH — A double ring cere
mony was held for Miss Bonnie
Flanders and Merritt Dodson,
Nehawka, May 27 at 2 p.m. in
the First Methodist church at
Lynch.
Performing the marriage was
the Rev. Lester Spragg. Vocalists
were Miss Margene Weeder and
Loren Pinkerman, accompanied
by Miss Sharon Christensen.
Parents of the bride are Mr.
and Mrs. Don Flanders, Lynch,
and the bridegroom is the son of
Mrs. Audrey Dodson, Nehawka.
The bride wore a floor length
gown of Chantilly lace and satin,
designed with fitted bodice of
lace, scalloped neckline edged
with lace and long tapered
sleeves. The full skirt featured a
satin panel down the front. Her
veil was held by a pearl and
sequin tiara. She carried a bou
quet of white roses and car
nations.
Matron of honor was Mrs. Ro
bert Tienken, and bridesmaid
was Miss Jacqueline Dodson,
Nehawka, sister of the bride
groom. Their gowns were of yel
low and lavender nylon eyelet
over taffeta, respectively. They
carried colonial bouquets of j
mums, and wore matching head
pieces.
Brian G. Feller, Scotia, was
bestman, ;ind Gary Flanders,
brother of the bride, was grooms
man. Ushers were Villas Eraun
and Roman Filips.
Karen Flanders and Linda Ton
ner were candlelighters. Judy
Flanders, sister of the bride, was
flower girl and Michael Calhoon
was ringbearer.
At the reception, held in the
Legion hall, the bride’s table was
centered with the cake, baked by |
the bride’s grandmother, Mrs. \
Albert Flanders, and decorated
by Mrs. Jack Youel. Miss Sharon
Dodson, sister of the bridegoom,
had charge of the guest book. As
sisting with the serving were
Miss Isla Ruda and Miss Doris
Hrbek.
The bride, a 1958 graduate of
Lynch high school, attended
school at Wayne the past three
summers, and taught school the
past three years.
Mr. Dodson is a graduate of
Nehawka high school of 1953,
graduated from Peru college in
1957, and has taught school the
past four years. He recently was
awarded a National Science
Foundation scholarship to attend
Pittsburg college in Kansas,
where they plan to reside this
summer.

ceremony was performed at 2:30
p.m. Sunday, June 4, at the
Chambers Baptist Memorial
church, uniting in marriage Miss
Mary Ann Florea, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Claude Florea,
Thedford. and Jim L. Mintle, son
of Mr. and Mrs. George Mintie,
Chambers.
The Rev. Earl Schwenk of
ficiated at the ceremony. Ap
propriate wedding music was pro
vided by the bride and bride
groom in solos and a duet. The
church was decorated with bou
quets of red carnations and white
pom pons.
A floor length white lace dress
was selected by the bride, featur
ing scalloped neckline, long
tapered sleeves and an overskirt
of lace. Her long veil was caught
by a tiara. She carried a white

Miss Laura Belle Florea, Lin
coln, sister of the bride, was
maid of honor and she was at
tired in a red chiffon dress with
white accessories. Her bouquet
was of red carnations surrounded
by white pom pons.
Gary Mintle, brother of the
bridegroom, served as best man.
Ushers were Larry Swanson and
Paul Gustafson.
Flowers girls were Joy Rowse
and Gaila Garwood, and the ring
bearers were Bernard and Bart
Miles.
Following the wedding a recep
tion was attended by 200 guests.
The bride is a graduate of
Kearney State Teachers college
and before her marriage was em
ployed as a teacher.
Mr. Mintle attended Kansas
City Bible college and is en
gaged in the ministerial profes
sion. Following a wedding trip

She will attend the program in

Dr. and Mrs. Richard Dam of
Lincoln were dinner guests of
Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Miner and
daughter, Mrs. Norm Klasna Sat
urday.
Dr Dam is a research scientist
in the biochemistry department
in Lincoln where Mrs. Klasna is
employed. In the afternoon the
group toured the Sandhills. They
visited the highest point in Holt
county on the Blaine Garwood
ranch. Dr. and Mrs. Dam are
from Wisconsin and Long Island,
N. Y. respectively and found the
tour very interesting.
Dinner Is Held
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Wilson were
hosts at a pre nuptial dinner Fri
day evening at the Town House.
Present were members of the
wedding party and out-of-town
relatives.
Give Dinner Party
Mrs. Winnie Barger, Mrs. Ben
Grady and Mrs. Allan Jaszko
wiak entertained at a dinner
party Thursday evening at the
Town House. Spring flowers were
used for a centerpiece. Following
dinner the group adjourned to the
Grady home where cards furnish
ed entertainment. Prizes were
won by Mrs. Henry Lohaus, Mrs.
Pat Harty and Mrs. Eld Galla
gher.
Miss Lehn Is Hostess
Members of the Janawa club
were guests of Miss LaVeta Lehn
Monday evening at her home. In
the playing of bridge, prizes were
won by Mrs. Ben Hertford and
Mrs. John Stuifbergen. Miss Lehn
had two guests that evening, Mrs.
Lyda Marshall, Oklahoma City,
and Mrs. C. E. Bird, Highland,
Tex.
IS GRADUATE
Shirley Schultz, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. John Kersenbrock, was
one of 44 who receive^ a degree
at Duchesne college, Omaha, May
27.
She received a bachelor of sci
ence degree in nursing. In 1959
she was graduated from the St.
Francis School of Nursing at
Grand Island as a registered
nurse.
She is presently employed at
St. Francis. Her parents were at
her graduation.
Miss LaVeta Lehn and her mo
ther, Mrs. Mary Lehn, accompan
ied Mrs. Leona Hynes to Omaha,
Sunday where Mrs. Hynes board
ed a plane for a visit in New
York. The other two returned to
their homes, stopping enroute to
visit relatives in Wahoo.
Mr. and Mrs. Allan Jaskowiak
will go to Gordon Saturday where
she will attend a reunion of her
high school graduating class of
1931. This is the first time this
class has held a reunion.

where she visited her aunt, Mrs.
Laura Eaton.

Mrs. Lyda Marshall of Okla
homa City arrived here Friday
for a visit with Mrs. Esther Mor
gan, returning to her home Wed
nesday. They drove to Columbus
Sunday for a visit with relatives
and friends.
Mrs. Earl Hunt and daughters
left Friday for Omaha where
Mrs. Hunt will take graduate
work at Omaha university dur
ing the next three weeks. The
children will stay with her mo
ther while she is in school. Mr.
Hunt took them to Omaha. Their
son, Tommy, will remain here
with his father.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sullivan
have had their daughters at home
for a few days visit, while they
were here to attend funeral ser
vices for Mr. Sullivan’s father,
John Sullivan. Their daughter,
Jeanne, left Sunday to return to
her studies at Providence hospit
al in Kansas City. A son-in-law
and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Shu
kri El Kahatib and son re
turned Tuesday morning to their
home in Oklahoma City. Mr. and
Mrs. Kahatib are considering a
trip next summer to Israel where
they will visit his Arabian mo
ther and sisters.

spent from Sunday to Tuesday
evening in Manhattan, Kan.

guests of Mr. and Mrs. Francis

at an 11 a.m. nuptial mass.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. William Edward
Wilson, O’Neill. Parents of the
bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs.
Reynhold Matthew Hoffmann,
Detroit.
The Rt. Rev. Timothy O’Sul
livan performed the double ring
ceremony before an altar deco
rated with white gladioli. The al
tar was flanked by two seven
branch candelabra and baskets
of white flowers. The center aisle
featured pew bows of white satin,
encircled with huckleberry.
Miss Mary Elizabeth Gatz was
soloist, accompanied by Miss
Alvara Ramm, organist, Stuart.
She sang "Ave Maria,” Panis
Angelicus” and “O Mother Will
It Always Be.”
The bride wore her sister’s
wedding gown and veil. The floor
length gown was of white pure
silk taffeta. Appliques of jewelled
Alencon lace highlighted Ihe por
trait neckline and cap sleeves
and were repeated on the prin
cess style skirt. Bias folds edged
the full skirt and swept back in
to an aisle-wide chapel train. Her
veil of imported silk illusion was
caught by a queen’s crown of
seed pearls. She carried a cas
cade bouquet of white roses, lilies
of the valley and ivy.
Maid of honor for her twin sis
ter was Miss Carolyn Wilson.

gowns were of petal pink organza,
with snug-fitting t)odices and

hats with attached veiling and
carried nosegays of garnet roses.

as best man. Ushers were James
M. Coughlin, Denver, and Henry
Frank, Caledonia, Minn.
After the ceremony, a wedding
breakfast was held at the Town
House. Assisting with the recep

at Atkinson.

of the bridegroom, was best man.
A wedding dinner for the im
mediate families was served at
the home of the bride’s parents.
At the reception, which was held
in the city park house, Mrs. Wil
liam Ziska acted as hostess. Mrs_
Fred Braun presided at the cof
fee service, and Miss Marilyn
Braun, sister of the bride, served
punch. Mrs. Frank Prescott cut
and served the bride’s cake, and
Mrs. Theodore Braun, the bride
groom’s cake. Taking care of the
gift table was Mrs. Richard
Braun, and at the guest book was
Miss Anna Holmes, Kearney, sis
ter of the bridegroom.
After a week’s wedding trip in
the Black Hills, the couple will
reside in Cozad.
