9 Reasons for the change in
boundaries is to provide more ade
quate educational advantages for

proposes the adjustment of pro
perty debts, and liabilities o‘ the
proposed District as follow'.:
a. All of the assets and property
of the districts included in this
plan as of July 1, 1960, shall be
come the property of the propos
ed School District No. 137.
b. All of the bonded indebtedness
existing against any of said dis
tricts is to be assumed and paid
by the original District No. 137,
that is District No. 137 as it ex
isted prior to such reorganization
and consolidation.
c. Ail other School Districts debts,
if any, of said Districts, as of
July 1, 1960, are to be assumed
and paid by the proposed School
District No. 137.
d. The utilization of existing
school houses and school pro
perty Is to be determined by the
legal voters of the proposed
School District No. 137, in the
event such reorganization be
comes effective, however this
shall pertain to school houses and
school grounds only.
4. The present school building of
District No. 137 will not be ade
quate but additional class rooms
can be built as a second floor over
the present gym.
Legal school electors only resid
ing within the enumerated districts
shall be permitted to vote at said
election, and the legal electors re
siding in School District No. 137,
shall be entitled to vote as a separ
ate unit at said election
Any electors or other interested
persons, may secure additional in
formation concerning the details
of said proposed plan of reorganiz
ation at the Office otf the County
Superintendent of Schools in O'

The Past Matrons Club and Star
kensington held Friday afternoon at
the heme of Mrs. J. A. Wood.
Eleven members answered roll
call. Mrs. S. M. Burtwistle pre
sided at the business session. Mrs.
Wood was secretary-treasure in the
absence of Mrs. Keith Biddlecome
who was hospitalized Thursday.
Cards were sent to Mrs. Biddlecome
and Mrs. Will Conner. Lunch was
served by the hostess.
Commencement exercises were
held Thursday evening at the aud
itorium of the Ewing Public
School. Thirteen seniors and
12 eighth graders were presented
diplomas.
The program opened with the pro
cessional march played by Shar
on Johnston. The invocation was
given by the Rev. W. W. Elliott
of the Ewing Methodist church.
Lois Kaczor gave the salutatory
address and Miss Coralee Sch
miser the valedictory address.
Miss Schmiser received the sch
olarship, from the Norfolk Junior
College and Miss Kaczor, the
State Teacher’s College scholar
ship, presented by G. D. Ryan.
Dr. 0. F. Moore, Wayne State
Teacher’s College was the speak
er of the evening. The theme of
his address was “Lets Go For
ward".

Bane will leave the last of June
for their home in Pakistan where
both are missionaries.
Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Archer
and family, Wisconsin, are spend
ing a few days at the home of his
tmkher, Mrs. Bertha Archer. They
also made a trip to Grand Island,
their former home one day last
week.
Mrs. Pauline Noffke was able to
return to her home the last of the
week after spending several days
at St Anthony's hospital in O'Neill.
Gene Sisson, who is stationed in
Germany, recently had a thirty day
leave which he spent visiting six
foreign countries.
Garth Angel, Chicago, HI., was
a recent weekend guest at the home
of Mrs. Helen Sisson and family.
Bible School Begins

Memorial Program
Many out of town guests of
friends and relatives in Ewing
were included in the crowd, larger
than usual, at the Memorial Day
services held Monday morning at
the Ewing public school auditorium.
Rev. W. W. Elliot delivered the
morning address. The invocation
was given by Dr. William H. Ross
and the benediction by Rev. P. F
Burke. Sharon Johnston sang “Each
Step I Take," with Mrs Wilbur
Bennett, pianist. “America My
Home" was a vocal solo by 'Doug
las Shrader with his sister. Sandra,
accompanist. Ralph Murm was
master of ceremonies.
On the retirement of colors a
service honoring those who gave
their life in the TJ. £?. Naw was
held at the EJkhom River bridge
north of Ewing From here the
crowd went to St. Peter’s ceme
tery. Mary Bergstrom placed a
wreath on the grave of the un
known soldier. A salute was given
by the firing squad of the Amer
ican Legion Sanders Post 214.
Taps were sounded by Bennie Tay
lor.
The same service was conducted
at the Ewing cemetery at the
grave of the unknown soldier with
Glenda Napier placing the wreath.
Flags were placed at the graves
of all veterans in both cemeteries
by Jay Butler and Ernest Pierson.
Memorial wreaths were placed on
the graves of deceased Auxiliary
members by Mrs. R. H. Harris
and Mrs. Floyd Lee.
Legion members participating in
the services were Bob Eppenbach,
commander; R. H. Shain, Leo
Hawk, James Boies, Louis Hanna,
Alfred Napier and Wayne Shrader.
Mrs. C. C. Hahlbeck and Mrs.
Frank Hawk were color bearers
for the auxiliary.
Holiday weekend guests at the

Methodist Youth Camp at Camp
Fontonelle this week are the fol
