Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Christen
sen celebrated their 40th wedding
anniversary Sunday with a family
dinner in their home.
Elmer Christensen and Hazel
Higgins were married October 9.
1919. They became the parents
of 5 children. One son. Donald
lost his life in the service in
World War II, November 1944 A
daughter died in infancy. The
other children are Joyce t Mrs.
Jack Reynoldsi, Richard of Ver
del and Arline (Mrs. Elmer Col
lins) of Broken Bow. There are
17 grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Christen
sen resided on a farm between
Munowi and Verdel for many
years and since their retirement
their son, Richard and family
have lived on the farm.
The immediate family attended
the dinner and relatives and |
friends called in the afternoon to:
wish them many more years of
life together.
Mrs. Faye Pinkerman and Mrs.
Irene Carsten drove to Burke, S.
D. Sunday afternoon to see Earn
Wilson and Mrs. Williamson,
(Irene’s mother). Earn is in the
Burke hospital.
Mrs. Bob Courtney and Mrs.
Leo Kalkowski were O'Neill call
ers Thursday.
Mrs. Pete Mulhair was a Fri
day evening supper guest at Mrs.
Phyllis Mulhair s.
Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Stewart
were business callers in Yank
ton, S. D. Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Heiser of
Riga, Mich, arrived at the Her
man Heiser home Saturday for a
visit. Sunday guests there were
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Kappel of Ft.
Benning. Ga,, Mr, and Mrs Er
nest McCormick of Omaha, Mr.
and Mrs. Lloyd Levi and family
of Lindy, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Cas
sidy and family, Mr. and Mrs.
I^eo Jorgenson, Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Heiser and Mrs. Esther
Davey and Mrs. Inger Levi of
Norfolk.
Harold France came from Ains
worth last weekend to visit^ his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd
France.

modeled this week.

turned Sunday from a vacation

The Lynch Fire Department re
cently purchased a new rural fire
truck. Several from the Lynch
fire dpeartment and the rural
protection district went to get the
| truck Tuesday, Oct. 6.
Miss Judy McGill was a supper
guest of Veldeen Pinkerman at
the Hannah Streit home Thurs
day evening.
The Lynch Eagles will play Nio
brara at Niobrara Friday after
noon October 16 at 2 p.m.
Mrs. Faye Pinkerman was a
supper guest at Mrs. Hannah
Streit's October 6 evening.

Mrs. Devem Christensen and son.
They returned home Sunday.

Ladies Aid had a food sale Satur
day in the back of Moody’s
Store.
The Lynch high school will hold
its annual homecoming October
23. There will be a parade and
rural schools are invited to par
ticipate. Prizes will be given.
