Lynch News By Yeldeen Pinkorman Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Christen sen celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary Sunday with a family dinner in their home. Elmer Christensen and Hazel Higgins were married October 9. 1919. They became the parents of 5 children. One son. Donald lost his life in the service in World War II, November 1944 A daughter died in infancy. The other children are Joyce t Mrs. Jack Reynoldsi, Richard of Ver del and Arline (Mrs. Elmer Col lins) of Broken Bow. There are 17 grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Christen sen resided on a farm between Munowi and Verdel for many years and since their retirement their son, Richard and family have lived on the farm. The immediate family attended the dinner and relatives and | friends called in the afternoon to: wish them many more years of life together. Mrs. Faye Pinkerman and Mrs. Irene Carsten drove to Burke, S. D. Sunday afternoon to see Earn Wilson and Mrs. Williamson, (Irene’s mother). Earn is in the Burke hospital. Mrs. Bob Courtney and Mrs. Leo Kalkowski were O'Neill call ers Thursday. Mrs. Pete Mulhair was a Fri day evening supper guest at Mrs. Phyllis Mulhair s. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Stewart were business callers in Yank ton, S. D. Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Heiser of Riga, Mich, arrived at the Her man Heiser home Saturday for a visit. Sunday guests there were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Kappel of Ft. Benning. Ga,, Mr, and Mrs Er nest McCormick of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Levi and family of Lindy, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Cas sidy and family, Mr. and Mrs. I^eo Jorgenson, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Heiser and Mrs. Esther Davey and Mrs. Inger Levi of Norfolk. Harold France came from Ains worth last weekend to visit^ his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd France. The home of Oral and Law rence Hoy family is being re modeled this week. "Albert Carson and Fred Krug man attended the calf sale in Bassett Saturday. Dr. and Mrs. Joseph David and family and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ducker and family were Sunday supper guests in the Ernest SLxta home. Joe Micanek and Joe Randy and Mr and Mrs. Dwight Mican ek and family visited in the Al ton Miller home at Wakefield Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Christen sen and Sharon visited in the Otto Jedlicka home in Yerdigre Thursday evening. Ralph Seger was a business caller at the Guy Pinkerman home Friday morning, i Marion Hoy was an overnight guest of Cathy Hrbek at the Mrs. Hannah Streit home Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Reiser re turned Sunday from a vacation trip in OhiP Mr. and Mrs. Leo Kalkowski and Kevin were Thursday night supper guests in the Bob Court ney home. Willie Hanson has been pick ing com at the Veldon Pinker man and T. J. Graham homes | this past week. The Lynch Fire Department re cently purchased a new rural fire truck. Several from the Lynch fire dpeartment and the rural protection district went to get the | truck Tuesday, Oct. 6. Miss Judy McGill was a supper guest of Veldeen Pinkerman at the Hannah Streit home Thurs day evening. The Lynch Eagles will play Nio brara at Niobrara Friday after noon October 16 at 2 p.m. Mrs. Faye Pinkerman was a supper guest at Mrs. Hannah Streit's October 6 evening. Mrs. Richard Christensen and children visited at the Glen Ri [ hanek home Tuesday afternoon, October 6. Veldon Pinkerman called at the Frank Carsten home October [6 afternoon to see Bub Carsten. Guy Pinkerman called on Bub j Carsten at the Frank Carsten j home Friday afternoon. Rosie Schollmeyer from Port land, Ore. arrived here to visit Schollmeyer relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Vigo Christensen accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Reg gie Pinkerman and family to Ericson Saturday to visit Mr and Mrs. Devem Christensen and son. They returned home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Hull spent Sunday at the Albert Reynolds home in Inman. The First Methodist Church Ladies Aid had a food sale Satur day in the back of Moody’s Store. The Lynch high school will hold its annual homecoming October 23. There will be a parade and rural schools are invited to par ticipate. Prizes will be given. Mrs Faye Pinkerman was a Friday supper guest in the Ray Wilson home. Guy Pinkerman called on Mrs. John Hurd at the Lynch hospitai Friday afternoon. Mrs Faye Pinkerman drove to Bonesteel. S. D. Saturday to spend the weekend with Mrs. Irene Carsten. Veldon. Veldeen and Guy Pink erman were in Bassett Saturday They attended a calf sale there Mrs. Marvin Schindler and Mary Ellen moved into the Cora Lee house in Lynch Monday. Miss Joyce McGill from Wayne spent the weekend with home folks. _ Mr and Mrs. Leo Thomson went to Lincoln Saturday and Bom Thomson kept their children while they were gone.
