cond study lesson on Isaiah assis
ted by Mrs. T. E. Newhouse and
Mrs. James Grimes. A report on
the state meeting was given by the
delegates, Mrs. Glen Grimes and
Mrs Raymond Beed an a report
of the District meeting by Mrs.
Darrel Gillette.
A Corsage to Missions w’as pre
sented to the pastor’s wife, Mrs
Charles Cox, to the president of
the woman's society, Mrs. T. E.
Newhouse, and to Mrs. R. K. Platt,
who is unable to attend because of
ill health.
There was a report of the no
minating commuttee and the elec
tion of officers. All officers were
re-elected with the exception of
secretary of missions which will
be Mrs. James Grimes and secre
tary of spiritual life, Mrs. Erwin
Carpenter.
Lunch was served by the hos
tesses. '

Mrs. Dora Townsend, a fifty
year member of the Jephthah
chapter, Order of the Eastern Star
was honored Tuesday evening at
the regular meeting. She was pre
sented a golden fifty year pin by
John A. Wood, worthy patron and
a jeweled brooch by Mrs. S. M.
Burtwistle, worthy matron.
Mrs. Townsend was worthy ma
tron in 1945 and has held other of
fices as well as having been organ
ist.
The luncheon table was centered
with a three tier cake decorated
in gold and white topped with a
golden "50" and flanked by golden
candles in crystal holders.

The regular business session was
held followed by the exemplifying
mitatory work.
