been advised by the Wage and \
Hour Division, US. Department
of Labor, that contractors engag
ed in highway construction work
are required to meet the provi- [
sions of the Fair Labor Standards
Act of 1938 (52 Stat. 1060), as
amended.
The minimum wage paid to all |
skilled labor employed on this
contract shall be one dollar and I
sixty cents ($1.60) per hour.
The minimum wage paid to all
intermediate labor employed on
this contract shall be one dollar
and thirty cents ($1.30) per hour.
Tlie minimum wage paid to all
unskilled labor employed on this
contract shall be one dollar
($1.00) per hour.
Plans and specifications for the
work may be seen and informa
tion secured at the office of the
Division Engineer of the Depart
ment of Roads and Irrigation at
Ainsworth, Nebraska, or at the
office of the Department of
Roads and Irrigation at Lincoln,
Nebraska.
The successful bidder will be
requirt'd to furnish bond in an
amount equal to 100% of his
contract.

Killed When Thrown
from Car—
CHAMBERS — Mr. and Mrs.
William Reningcr received word
that their niece, .Grace Lee
Sholtz, was killed in a highway
accident near Bremerton, Wash.
Miss Sholtz had swerved to
avoid being struck by a car, hit
the curb and was thrown from
her machine, striking her head
against the pavement.
Miss Sholtz made her home
with her sister, Mrs. Roland
Jackson, and Mr. Jackson, in
Chambers several years ago.
South Siders Meet—
EMMET—The South Side club
met recently with Mrs. Fritz
Brockman. There were 10 mem
bers and two guests present. The
lesson was on the uses of spices
in food and was presented by
Mrs. Bob Fox.
Mr. and Mrs. Emmet Crabb
recently returned from a two
weeks’ vacation in Indiana. They
visited their son. They traveled
through Michigan and across the
Straits, Illinois, Minnesota, North
Dakota and then home.
