Rites Today, Butte
BUTTE—Funeral services will
be conducted at 9 a.m., today
(Thursday) from Sts. Peter and
Paul’s Catholic church in Butte
for Mrs. Elizabeth Tiefenthaler,
69, who died about 6 a.m., Tues
day, October 12, at Butte. She
died of leukemia, having been ill
about two years. She was serious
ly ill the past three months.
Burial will be at Butte. Pall
bearers will be Nick 'Hostert,
Nick Weber, E. R. Johnson, Aug
ust Sibbel, Ben Lunink and
Frank Lechtenberg.
The late Mrs. Tiefenthaler,
whose maiden name was Eliza
beth Stein, was born in Iowa
February 8, 1885, a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Anton Stein.
She married John Tiefenthaler
at. Halbur, la. The couple resided
for many years on a farm about
four miles west of Butte, retir
ing 10 years ago.
Survivors include: Widower—
John; sons — William of Butte;
Joseph of Lake Andes, S.D., and
Norbert of Oakland, Calif.;
daughters—Mrs Ray Weber and
Mrs. A1 Englehaupt, both of
butte; Mrs. Hugh Benson of O’
Neill; Mrs. Ed Liewer of Anchor

locked, causing the accident. Mr.

had been hospitalized three weeks
and had undergone surgery. . .
Robert Montgomery submitted to
surgery October 5 in the Veterans
hospital, Grand Island. His birth
day anniversary is Friday, Octo
ber 15.

1,000 -1,200 Cattle Receipts Today
• Expected receipts today (Thursday) at our regular week
ly sale include between 1,000 and 1,200 head of cattle.
Five hundred of these will be good-to-choice yearlings,
around 400 will be calves, and the balance of the run will be
mixed cattle.
• Early consignments include 125 choice yearling steers
weighing about 700 pounds, 70 medium-to-good yearling
steers weighing 600-700 pounds; 32 strictly choice Angus steer
calves, also many load lots of good-to-choice cattle. Fifty
spring lambs will also be offered.
