Eickhoffs Plan 50th Wedding Observance • PAGE—In observance of their golden wedding anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Eickhoff will hold open-house at their home in Page Sunday, June 13, from 2 to 5 o’clock in the after noon and 7 to 9 in the evening. Other Page News Mr. and Mrs. Dale Asher and sons of Logan, la., visited from Saturday until Monday with Mr. Asher’s mother, Mrs. George Park, and Mr. Park. They also visited at the Rollie Snell and Edd Stewart homes. Mrs. R. H. Robinson and son of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Haynes and daughter of Omaha and Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Haynes and fam ily of O’Neill were Sunday din ner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Haynes and Miss Viola Mrs. Kenneth Braddock, Dale and Audrey spent the weekend in Page. Mrs. Braddock and Dale stayed at the Alton Braddock home. The RNA Kensington met on Wednesday, May 26, with Mrs. George Park with eight mem bers present. Mrs. Elsie Cork was a guest. A covered dish lunch was served. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Asher and son, Fred, and Miss Vera Churchill of Woodbine, la., spent the weekend at the home of Mr. Asher’s mother, Mrs. George Park, and Mr. Park. Mrs. R. H. Robinson and son of Colorado Springs, Colo., spent the weekend with her grandpar ents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Haynes, and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Undine and family of Sioux City and Mrs. Dean Richards of Omaha were weekend guests of Mrs. Undine’s and Mrs Richards’ par ents, Mr. and Mrs. I. O. Wood. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Haynes and children of Omaha spent the weekend with their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. William Neubauer, and other relatives. Mrs. Susan Hathaway of Hart ington came Friday to visit for a week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rollie Snell. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Miller, Su zanne Bressler and Mrs. Minnie Hayne, all of Wayne, visited on Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mis. C. A. Townsend. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Clark and son and Mrs. Cora West of Council Bluffs, la., spent from Saturday until Monday visiting at the George Park and Edd Stewart homes. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth McIn tosh and children of Blair spent the weekend at the home of his mother, Mrs. Nelle McIntosh, and Ray. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd McIntosh and family joined them for dinner Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Howell and William Howell of Joliet, 111., visited from Saturday until Monday with Marvins and Wil liam’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. F, Howell. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Kattmeir and children and Mrs. Gertrude Deaver of Des Moines, la., came Saturday to visit at the Leonard Heiss and Merwyn French, sr., homes and with other relatives. Mrs. Deaver is a daughter and Mrs. Kattmeir a granddaughter of Leonard Heiss. They returned home Tuesday. Mrs. Melvin luhq ana son oi Scotia spent last week with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. I. Obermire of Stuart and James Bryson Scott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Preston Scott of Lincoln, were married Saturday May 29, in St Boniface Catholic church. ***■ ^ f, Paschang perform ed the double-nng ceremony at 2 p.m. The church was decorated with peonies, sweet rocket and snowballs. Richard Henning of Atkinson, cousin of the bride, sang “Ador ate De Vote” and “Ave Maria” with Sister Vera at the organ. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown which she designed and made It was styled with a fitted tissue velvet bodice with long sleeves which came to a point over her hands. The bouffant floor-length skirt was of tulle over taffeta Her veil, edged with velvet was held in place by a high tiara of ret embroidered with pearls and rhinestones which the bride’s mother had worn on her wed ding day. She carried blue roses and a white pearl rosary which was made by her grandmother. Miss Shirley Brinkmeyer of Courtiland, a friend of the cou ple, was maidof-honor and wore a blue lace over nylon net dress and carried a corsage of blue and white roses. miss Karen Obermire, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid and was gowned identically to the maid-of-honor. She also carried a blue and white rose corsage. They wore matching head pieces. Brenda Sue Obermire, small sister of the bride, was flower girl. She wore a blue nylon dress trimmed with white lace, and wore a matching headpiece. Mi kie Lee Scott of Omaha, nephew of the bridegroom, wore a navy blue suit and carried the rings on a white velvet pillow edged with blue tulle. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Preston L. Scott, jr., of Omaha as bestman and Joe Obermire, brother of the bride. Don and Dean Obermire cousins of the bride, ushered. A reception was held in the church parlors immediately fol lowing the ceremony. The tables were decorated in the bride’s chosen colors of blue and white and the bride’s table was centered with the wedding cake baked by her mother and decorated by Miss Barbara Mli aar of Atkinson. Mrs. John Henning, aunt of the bride, poured while Mrs. Charles Moses, Mrs. Lawrence Slaymaker, Mrs. Gilbert Engler, Misses Joan Henderson, Joyce Seibken, Janice Scholz, Doreen Shattuck and Evelyn Kaup as sisted with the serving. Mrs. John Obermire and Miss Rita Obermire were in charge of the gift table while Miss Nola Obermire had charge of the 'uest book. The bride chose a three-piece light blue linen suit for going away. , Alter a short wedding trip they will make their home in Lincoln at 314 South 17th street. A covered dish din ner was served at noon. Mrs. Z. H. Fry, who was observing a birthday anniversary, was honor ed with a a handerchief shower. In the evening the, men of the church laid the new linecdeum in the kitchen. The lineoleum had been purchased by the Mission ary Society. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schroed er have purchased the residen tial property of Mrs. Blanche Sis son in northwest Ewing. The Shroeders, who live west of Ewing, plan to move to Ewing later in the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Hamilton attended the Orchard alummi banquet Friday evening at the high school auditorium. Mr. Hamilton is a graduate of the class of 1942. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Spittler and family of Omaha came Friday to spend the holiday with his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Spittler, and other relatives. Mrs. May Gemmill, who has ; spent the winter in Lander, Wvo., j with her daughter, Mrs. Ret Min shall, and family has returned to her home in Ewing. Mr. and Mrs. George Adrian of Wichita, Kans., spent the hol iday weekend with relatives in Ewing. They are former resi dents of Ewing. Pvt. Robert Pruden left Sun day for Ft. Lewis, Wash., from where he will be sent overseas. His brother, James Pruden, took him to his destination by plane. Larry Rotherham and Neal Jensen were advanced from sec ond class to first class Boy Scouts in troop 181 at a meeting held last Thursday evening at the scout headquarters. They appeared before the board of review for examination. Larry and Neal are the first of troop 181 to win this honor. Neal also received a pin for one year’s perfect attendance. Those on the board of review are Gail Boies, Clifford Hahlbeck and Charles Rotherham. Musical selections and appro priate games provided entertain ment for the group of ladies who gathered at the annex of the United Presbyterian church on Friday afternoon to honor Mrs. Wilbur Spangler at a pink-and blue shower. Many gifts were received by the honoree. Re freshments were served. The Missionary society was the spon sor with Mrs. Z. H. Fry, Mrs. W. J. Bomber and Mrs. Dale Napier in charge. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Haskins and daughter, who have been guests at the home of her broth er, left Friday for their home at Long Beach, Calif. They plan to visit relatives in New Mexico enroute. Miss Marcia Gibson is spend ing a 17-day vacation at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Gibson. She is a stu dent nurse at the Methodist hos pital in Omaha.
