Ewing News Mrs. Claude Barnett, who has been a guest of her aunt, Miss Elisabeth Eggleston, returned to her home at Rapid City, S. D., on Tuesday. They attended the fun eral of her aunt, Mrs. C. E. Han sen, at Battlecreek last Thurs day afternoon. Mrs. Hansen had been ill several weeks and died in a Norfolk hospital. Services were i n St. John’s Lutheran church. Mrs. Wilda Carr and family and Miss Vaulda Welke of Hold rege will spend their Easter vacation with relatives in Ewing. Mrs. Carr and Miss Welke are teachers in the Holdrege public school. , , Floyd Boies spent the weekend at Inman visiting at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Luben. He returned home Sunday evening. Mrs. Jerome Fuller and son. accompanied by her sister, Mrs. j Gene Ruby and children, return ed Saturday to her borne at Grand Island after a visit at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Eacker. Mrs. Ruth Moeckly of Iowa City, la., was a guest from Wed nesday, April 7, to Sunday at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Rev. and Mrs. W. J. Bomer, and family. Wash., where they had spent several weeks with their daugh I ter, Mrs. Lyle Mitchell, and fam ily Mr. and Mrs. Fay Doty return ed home from Wayne on Sunday after a spending a few days at the home of their daughter and family. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Miller were visiters at the home of Mrs. Edna Lofquest on Sunday. Mrs. Bertha Urban spent the weekend with Mrs. Dona Carson and family. The Carson family and their guest also attended the ice capades in Sioux City. Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Huffman and daughters and his mother, Mrs. Zoe Huffman of Elgin, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Huffman and family were guests on Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. War ren Schulheis at Wayne. Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Rockey entertained the following guests at dinner on Sunday: Mr. and Mrs. Vance Butler and family of Neligh, Mr. and Mrs. Buford Carlson and son, Danny, of Orch ard, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Rockey and son, Randy, and Mrs. Vera Anson, all of Ewing. A picnic supper was enjoyed on the lawn at the M. B. Huff man home Saturday when Mary and Susan Huffman had as their guests Kitty, Dickie and John Wanser ana Robert Walker. The party also attended the show at the theatre in the evening. Carolyn and Joyce Kleckner are guests at the home of Mrs. Edna Lofquest while their par -'nts, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Kleck ner, are in Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Norwood, her mother, Mrs. Amy Jacobsen, and Mrs. Edna Lctfquest attended church services at Amelia Fri day evening. Charles Rotherham, cochair man of Boy Scout troop 181, and Scoutmaster H. H. Harris, accom panied by Elwood Peterson, Bob Tuttle and Larry Rotherham, at tended a Northcentral roundtable discussion at the courthouse in O’Neill on Thursday evening. “Go Camping” was the theme for discussion. A question Box was the fea ture of the Christian Mother’s meeting held Tuesday evening, April 6, at St. Peter’s Catholic church with Rev. P. F. Burke in charge. Reverend Burke also gave a talk “Vocations.” Routine business was conducted with Mrs. Gail' Boies, president in charge. Sixteen members were in attendance. Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Larsen and Mrs. J. L. Pruden spent Sat urday at Winner, S. D., on a combined business and pleasure trip. The youth group of the Ev angelical United Brethern church at Orchard was entertained Fri day evening at the annex of the United Presbyterian church with the youth fellowship as the hosts. The devotional period featuring a chalk talk was conducted by Miss Sally Christon. Games and contests provided entertainment for the group. Refreshments were served.
