‘Womanless Wedding’
Helps Raise Funds
STUAJRT—On Monday night,
October 30, the Stuart volunteer
fire ^department approved the
purchase of a Monaghan port
able respirator.
The respirator can be operated
manually or by a 12-volt battery
or 110-volt AC current and is
recommended by the Children’s
memorial hospital in Omaha and
the Omaha fire department res
cue squad.
Since the cost of the respirator
was more than the iron lung
fund collected in a drive extend
ing over several years, the fire
department sponsored a benefit
show on Thursday night, Novem
ber 2, at the city auditorium to
raise funds.
The talent was furnished by the
ladies of Midway club, who pre
sented “Don’t Tell a Soul” and
their husbands, who presented
“Womanless Wedding.”
The group presented the show
on October 20 in Newport to
raise money for the school and
club. Leslie Sweet, who teaches
in district 136, was the director.
A dance followed the perform
ance.
