206, 1939 Legislative Session.

rected to the Special Provisions
covering subletting or assigning
the contract.
The attention of bidders is in
vited to the fact that the De
partment of Roads and Irriga
tion has been advised by the
Wage and Hour Division, U. S.
Department of Labor, that con
tractors engaged in highway
construction work are required
to meet the provisions of the
Fair Labor Standards Act of
1938 (52 Stat. 1060).
The minimum wage paid to
all skilled labor employed on
this contract shall be one dollar
and five cents ($1.05) per hour,
except that a minimum wage
of one dollar and twenty-five
cents ($1.25) per hour shall be
paid to:
Journeymen Carpenters
Dragline Operators
Crane Operators
Power Shovel Operators
The minimum wage paid to
all intermediate labor employ
ed on this contract shall be
ninety-five (95) cents per hour. |
The minimum wage paid to
all unskilled labor employed on
this contract shall be seventy
five (75) cents per hour.
Plans and specifications for
the work may been seen and in- ]
formation secured at the office
of the County Clerk at O’Neill,
Nebraska, at the office of the
District Engineer of the De
partment of Roads and Irriga
tion at Ainsworth, Nebraska, or
at the office of the Department
of Roads and Irrigation at Lin
coln, Nebraska.
The successful bidder will be
required to furnish bond in an
amount equal to 100% of his
contract.
As an evidence of good faith
in submitting a proposal for 1
this work or for any portion
thereof as provided in the bid
ding blank, the bidder shall
file, with his proposal, a certi
fied check made payable to the
Department of Roads and Irri
gation and in an amount not
less than the total amount, de
termined from the following
list, for any group of items or
collection of groups of items
for which the bid is submitted.

550 Hogs Moved on
O’Neill Market
Five hundred and fifty hogs
passed through the ring at the
O’Neill Livestock Market on
Thursday, July 6, but the cat
tle run was seasonally light.
The 190 to 230 pound butch
ers soli from $22.50 to an ex
treme top of $22.85; 230 to 260
pound butchers, $22.25 to $22.50;
260 to 280 pounders, $21.50 to
$22.25; 280 to 300 pounders,
$20.76 to $21.50; 300 to 350
pounders, $20.25 to $20.75; 350
pounders and heavier, $20
down. Light sows ranged from
$19.75 to $22, depending upon
their condition; heavy sows,
300 pounds and up, sold from
$19.75 on down; extra heavy
sows, weighing 500 pounds and
over, brought $17, while stags
cleared from $13 to $16.
Light yearling steers of good
quality brought $28 to $30;
light yearling heifers, $26 to
$28: canner cows, $16.50 to $18;
fat grass cows, $19 to $21, also
depending upon their condition.

The Ladies of Lake project
club met Friday, June 23, at
the home of Mrs. Glenn Lorenz.
Plans were made for a club
picnic to be held August 6 at
Goose lake.

agent, presented the lesson on
"Textile Painting” and Mrs.
Paul Hubei gave the lesson on
“Shellcraft.’
