family were in Norfolk last
week! Mrs. Gilman had an
other growth removed from
her eye. The growth resulted
from a piece of lye Hying into
her eye while removing the lid

cellus took her little daughter
to the clinic at Norfolk this
week . , . Mrs. Bart Malloy
went to Sioux City Monday
for a medical checkup. . . Roy
Lowry underwent an eye op
eration at University hospital
in Omaha last week. He will
remain at the hospital for fur
ther treatment. Mrs. Jas. Early
returned Wednesday, Decem
ber 1, from Rochester, Minn.,
where she had been a patient
at the clinic. , . . W. K. Buck,
of Orchard, underwent an eye
operation Monday, November
29, at the University hospital
in Omaha. His condition is
reported as “fine” and he is
expected home soon. Mr. Buck
is the father of W, S. Buck, of
O’Neill.
LYNCH — Mrs. John Wike
has returned from an Omaha
hospital, where she was a pa
tient and underwent a tonsil
operation. . . Miss Bessie Kar
el has been dismissed from the
hospital, where she was a pa
tient for a few days. . . Sister
Delores, who has been a pa
tient at the Sacred Heart hos
pital for more than 20 years as
the result of a car accident, is
“seriously ill.” . . Henry Vlcan.
of Monowi, has been a hospital
patient since Tuesday, Novem
ber 30, having received serious'
injury to his left hand in a
corn sheller accident. Part of
tho hand and two fingers were
amputated.
INMAN— Randy, the small
son of Mr. and Mrs. George L.
Colman, jr., was burned on
the back Wednesday, Decem
ber 1, when he sat in a bucket
of hot water his mother was
using to scald chickens. He
was taken to the O’Neill hos
pital for treatment. His burns
were not considered serious,
but they were painful. He was
able to return home Thursday
evening.

returned from Our Lady of
Lourdes hospital at Norfolk
Sunday where she had been a
patient following appendecto
my. She is staying with her
uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs

ceive treatment for a skin
cancer on his face.

Klabenes is here caring for Bil

REDBIRD—Chester Carsten,
of near Scottville, was taken
to the Sacred Heart hospital
at Lynch where he had an op
eration for appendicitis Mon
day, November 29.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stutz
and family returned Friday
from Petersburg and Hastings.

visited her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. W. J. Oik. Mr. Stutz was
in Hastings on business._

from Lincoln Monday after

sister, Mrs. E. T. Gardner, who
! is in a hospital in Nebraska
City. She was gone five days.
Mrs. Frank Ellis returned
Sunday after being with her
daughter and family, Mr. and
Mrs. Nels Olson, and daughter, ,
of Alva, Okla. Mrs. Ellis was |
: there for two weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Ressel,
residents of Plainview for 20
years, moved to O’Neill last
Friday. They are Harry Res
sel’s parents.'

spent Sunday and Monday

14. They will attend the fu
neral of their son who was
killed in World War II. They
