Double-Wedding
Reminiscent o f
One Here in 1907
While the first rays of the
morning sun glinted on the quaint
Spanish-styled St. Peter’s Catho
lic church in Beverly Hills,
Calif., a double-wedding took
place that was reminiscent of a
similiar affair 30 years ago in St.
Patrick’s Catholic church at O’
Neill.
Those exchanging nuptial vows
at the 1946 double - ceremony
were John J. Stein and Frances
Louise Myers, and Richard R.
Si^in and Betty Jo Hamilton. The
bridegrooms are sons of Mr. and
Mrs. Walter Stein, formerly of
| O'Neill.
In November, 1907, Zeffa Zie
mer and Walter Stein, and Zella
Ziemer and Oscar Marcotte, were
| married here by Rev. Gibbons.
Following the Beverly Hills
nuptials, the Stein home was the
scene of a reception attended by
more than 100 guests There were
twin three-tiered wedding cakes
atop a white damasked covered
table.
Guests coming from a distance
included Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Ziemer, of San Francisco, Calif.;
Mrs. Jack Salmans, of Merced,
Calif.; and Mrs. Joseph F. Hamil
ton, of Medford, Ore., mothet of
one of the brides.
Both bridegrooms saw over
seas service during World War II.
It was the fist double-ring cere
mony performed by Rev. Lee in
j St. Peter’s church.

Neill public school faculty were
