VOTE FOR JUDGE DICKSON!
A district judge is to be selected at
the coming election for Holt, Rock,
Brown, Boyd and Koya Paha Counties,
comprising the Fifteenth Judicial Dis
trict. A most important office to the
people of the district; and every citi
zen should he interested in seeing that
the right man is elected to fill this
office,
A district judge should be a man of
unquestioned and proven legal ability;
sterling integrity and upstanding citi
zenship. Judge Dickson meets these
requirements, his years of experience
and his exceptional and satisfactory
administration of justice on the bench
especially fits him for this most im
portant office. He has the confidence
and respect, not only of every lawyer
in the district, but of the citizens at
large; litigant and lawyer know that
every case will be fearlessly and hon
estly decided upon its merits. He has
no judicial favorites, every man re
gardless of his nationality, financial
standing, religious or political views,
has his case decided upon the law and
facts as he honestly sees them. He
has filled the office with honor, credit
and distinction; he is interested, and
has interested himself, in the better
ment of every community of the dis
trict; he is ever ready to assist in the
correction of conditions which work
against good citizenship. The people
have absolute confidence in his integ
rity and ability. Vote for Judge Dick
son and be assured of the continuance
of the due administration of justice,
and that without fear or favor.

TO THE VOTERS OF
HOLT COUNTY
I am a candidate for the office of
County Judge on the non-political
ticket, and I feel as though I will have
no trouble, if elected, in discharging
the duties of that office. If elected, it
will be my honest endeavor to deal
fairly, honestly and impartially with
all questions that may come before
that Court. I will have no favorites
—everybody will stand on an equality
before the Court who may have busi
ness there.
If you can see your way clear to
favor me with your support for this
office. I assure you that it will be
highly appreciated.
Yours sincerely,
m. h. McCarthy.

ANOTHER TREASURE HUNT
PASSES INTO HISTORY
The winners of the treasure hunt of
the preceding Sunday—Mr. and Mrs
Roy Warner and Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Lindberg sponsored the “hunt” last
Sunday evening. The clues seemed to
be extra hard ones and kept the hunt
ers busy until along toward the wee
hours of the morning.
Following is a list of the clues, the
solution of which may be found on the
last page of this issue:
1— Paramount I soar on wings.
2— Starting at the intersection 4th
and Douglas proceed North to “the end
of the road” face “setting sun” and
journey on for 1780 yards then on %
the same distance in the direction the
ducks fly, slowly cautiously return to
staring point—For a lawabiding citi
zen this is an easy one.
.1—(20- 12-26-15) (11-12-8-7)
4—Dreams of Spain
Lattices so fair
I love in vain
For my castles in the air.
5—Its toasted.
t!—36-2343 Nebraska 1028
7— A pretty bauble or a toy
Will delight any girl or boy
But this easy little clue
Is created to please just you.
8— An Indispensable element for
foundations of numerous civic im
provements and roads. A great abun
dance surrounds me.
9— A grim reminder out of the past
Of a phase of time that has for its
motto only—
The survival of the Fittest.
10— To find me will not be hard
Just keep within the yard—
Limit your activities to this space
And you’ll find me right in place.
11— Try this on your Piano.
(Notes from Prisoners Song)
12— When you delve deep down in
your secret code
Can you resist the lure of the open
road
No, Then haste to me, spirit free
In a hoboes pullman togather we’ll
flee
Thru a world of adventure and ro
mance we’ll roam
After which perchance we’ll enjoy
the security of home.
BRAVE AVIATOR PORTRAYS
REMARKABLE MOVIE SCENE
To “Rod’’ Roger . famed as a pilot
but unknown as notion picture ac
tor, goes the credit for performing
the greatest death scene ever record-)
cd on the screen. “Rod” Rogers por
trays an American aviator, mortally
wounded in a plane shot down in
flames from an altitude of 6,000 feet.
The sequence was desired fry Wil
liam Wellman, director of the now fa
mous air epic, “Wings” which will
show at the Royal theatre on Novem
ber 1. 2, and 3.
Taking the plane up through and
above the clouds, facing an electri
cally driven camera fastened to the
front of the cocknit. Rogers cut his
tiames and deliberately plunged the
“ship” into a tail-spin.
Wien scarcely 1,000 feet above the
eround, Rogers suddenly “came ’ o
lire.” He grabbed and pulled the
stick, straight out, circled around and
made a perfect landing.
