Journal.
Now on this. 21st day of July, 1924,
this cause came on for hearing before
the court. On consideration whereof
the court finds:
First—That said Francis Anderson
is fifteen years of age and will be
sixteen years of age on the 20th day of
October, 1924. That his mother is
dead and the whereabouts of his
father is unknown.
Second—The court further finds that
said Francis Anderson has been cared]
for and has been in the custody of his
<nandparonts, James Diehl and Emma
Diehl since he was a small boy, and
since the death of his mother which
cccu? red when he was about seven
years of age.
Third—The court finds that due and

Fourth—The couTt finds that the
said Francis Anderson is a neglected
and dependent boy, and a fit subject
for the Masonic Home for Boys located
in the City of Omaha, Nebraska.
Fifth—The court further find3 that
the grandparents should contribute to
said Home the sum of $50 per year,
payable quarterly in advance, the first
quarterly payment having been made
by check of date July 19th, payable to
said Home and is attached hereto.
Sixth—The court further finds that
it is for the best interest of said boy
that he be confined to said Home until
he reaches his majority, the court
finding on personal investigation that
said Home is a fit and suitable place
for the care, keeping and education of
said boy. And that the County of
Holt ought to contribute toward the
expenses of the care, keeping and edu
cation of said boy the sum of $10.00
per month, commencing with August
1, 1924, said payments to be made
until the further order of the court.
It is therefore considered adjudged
and decreed by the Court, that the said
Francis Anderson be, and he hereby
is, committed to the Masonic Home
for Boys located at 2137 South 33rd
: Street, Omaha, Douglas County, Ne
braska, until he shall reach his ma
jority or shall have been discharged
' or transferred from said Home. That
| his said grand parents shall pay the
said Home $50 per year, payable quar
terly in advance, and that the County
' of Holt shall pay monthly until the
i further order of the court, commenc
ing August 1, 1924, the sum of $10.00
per month. That the costs of this pro
! ceeding be taxed to the County of
Holt, including the matter of taking

on for hearing upon the application
and petition of the petitioner to be
granted a mother’s pension, and the
Court being fully advised in the prem
ises finds that a mother’s pension
should be granted said applicant.
It is therefore hereby ordered that
Ruby Wilcox be, and she hereby is
"•ranted a mother’s pension in the
sum of $10.00 per month, for the
period of six months beginning July
1, 1924.
It is further ordered that the Board
of Supervisors of Holt County, Ne
braska, shall make an order providing
for the payment of said Mother’s Pen
sion.

Sunday was the seventy-eighth
birthday anniversary of Newton Car
son, of Kedbird. In order that the day
might be a great success, the children,
with the exception of William and
family, of Lincoln, were all present
with their families. Mr. and Mrs.
Frank McWhorter, of Osmond, a for
mer resident of Holt county and a life
time friend of Mr. Carson and family,
were also present, as were Mrs. Rob
ert Carson, of Cowles, mother of Mrs.
Edward Carson; Mrs. Laport and son.
Vern, of Valentine. Mrs. Laport
and Mrs. John Carson are cousins.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the after
noon and e: pressed the wish that they
might help celebrate many more anni
versfiri .s with Mr. Carson, who is spry
and as energetic as many young men;
he has tended a large garden this year
and with the assistance of Mrs. Carson
is taking care of a large flower garden
also.
