| man. Township Board of Saratoga
being present. The board took up the
matter of protection of road No. 2
west of the Parshall bridge.
“On this 7th day of March and on
the 27th day of March, 1923, members
of the township boards of Dustin and
Saratoga townships together with
several interested residents of those
and adjoining townships appeared be
fore the board in support of their pe
tition, duly filed in writing with said
board, for county aid in protecting the
No. 2 road from the ravages of the
Niobrara river and from the state
ments made by said taxpayers, and
from the report made by the com
mittee selected from the County Board
to view said project and the report of
the engineer thereon it appears to said
County Board and said Board finds
that the No. 2 road is the main travel
ed road leading east and west in that
section of the county; that there is no
other road leading east and west for
a distance of six or seven miles south
and north; that because of the numer
ous creeks and bluffs it would be im
practicable to lay out a new road
further south in addition to being
very expensive; that the present road
is extensively traveled it being the
only road from the west leading to the
Parshall bridge; that at a point north
of Section 18-33—13 the Niobrara river
is cutting into the bank of said road
leaving but forty feet of road left be
tween1 the river and the bluffs; that if
the road is washed and cut out at this
point the road will be impassable and
it being impassible to cut around it to
the south; that the part of said road
being washed and cut out lies in Sara
toga township; that the cost of pro
tecting said foad and changing the
current of said river so as to prevent
further cutting and washing away of
the bank will be considerable and more
than Saratoga township can raise in
road and labor tax in any one year;
and an unreasonable burden u<pon
them; that said township, through its
duly elected officers, has made appli
cation to this Board for County Aid
for this work; that all of the residents
of the northwest of them; in that part
o" the County are interested in the re
pair of said road and that they will be
be benentted tnerebyw
Therefore, be it resolved that in the
event that the said Saratoga Town
ship do the necessary brush work to
protect the bank where the proposed
jetties intersect with the bank then
that' this Board appropriate the sum of
$1,250.00 to aid Saratoga Township in
protecting and repairing No. 2 road
at North of Section 18-33-13 by de
flecting the current of the river so as
to prevent the washing and cutting
away of that part of said road. This
work to be done under supervision of
the Department of Public Works.
Be it further understood that the
townships of Saratoga and Dustin are
to appropriate the sum of $500.00, this
together with the $1,250 appropriated
by the County is to be used for the
purchase of steel jetties.

O’Neill people recommend Doan’s Kid

H. J. Zimmerman, proprietor Cream
Station, Main Street, O’Neill, says:
Mv back ached continually day and
night. My kidneys acted frequently
and my head ached. I had to get up
many times during the night to pass
the secretions which were highly col

dizzy and there were severe pains in
the back of my head. Doan’s Kidney

trouble.”
The above statement was given July
