O'Neill Schools
TO the Young People of Holt
County: The O’Neill High
School has been designated as
one of the High Schools of the
* State to maintain a class in
Normal Training. The object is to
enable young persons wbo wish to
teach to prepare to do so by entering
a school near home, where they will
receive the best of instruction and
where every opportunity is offered by
which they may prepare for the work
of teaching, as the law requires.
The Lazv.
The law relative to Normal Train
ing in the nigh Schools of Nebraska is
very brief, yet comprehensive. It was
enacted by the Legislature of 1905.
It reads:
“On and after September 1, 1907, no
person shall Ire granted a first grade
eounty certificate who has not had at
least twelve weeks normal training in
a college, university or normal school
of approved standing in this or in
another state, or in a state junior
normal school of Nebraska, or in a
high, school of Nebraska approved by
'.he state superintendent of public in
struction as bring equipped to give
such normal training. One or more
fears successful experience as a teach

essons under grade teachers and three
o five practice lessons with high
chool classes in which the pupil
eacher teaches all or part of the period
if a class of which he is a regular
