Mrs. Keeler and Charlie spent Fri day afternoon at Mr. Andersons. L. G. Coburn and family visited at Rudolph Jeppeson’s, Sunday last. Howard Greeley was up from Pad dock to attend literary Saturday evening. Rudolph Jeppeson and John Damero marketed hogs in Spencer last week. Harry Prouty of Paddock visited Ralph Coburn the latter part of the week. Mrs. Emma Moore visited at her father-in-law’s near Atkinson one day last week. Edia Damero and Jessie Coburn were callers at Mr. McMains, Thurs day evening. Bert Parshall went to Boyd county Monday where he expects to get a job of work for the summer. Don’t forget the “box supper” at the Greeley school house Saturday evening, March 26. In addition to this, will be a line program. All are cordially invited to attend. A crowd consisting of R. Jeppson and fanily, John Damero, Asberry Clevenger, A1 McMain and Ralph Coburn spent a very pleasant evening at M. Christensens last Wednesday. Smith will j commence a series of protracted meet ings in the Chambers Baptist church ! next Monday evening. The I. O. O. of this place have start ed a movement to organize a Rebekah lodge. There has been a goodly num ber of ladies induced to join and the indications are that the Odd Fellows Auxiliary will be a pronounced success in Chambers.—'The Bugle. ATKINSON. About twelve ladies living in South Atkinson have formed themselves in to a walking club which meets daily and a walk of one and a half miles or more taken. S. P. Robinson has disposed of his store to P. O. Alieshouse and others, of Council Bluffs, who will take poses sion at once and continue the busi ness. Mr. Robinson takes as part payment a half section of farm land near Mariaville, in Rock county. Last night Holt county broke all prolific records, when a cow belonging to S. A. Estabrook of Inez gave birth to live calves, four males and one female, all of which are apparently perfect animals and in good health. The mother is an ordinary old cow, weighing about 900 lbs. Some claim that she is evidently a republican cow, and is endeavoring to show her ap proval of President Roosevelt’s views on race suicide.—The Graphic. I I I I | O. F.
