ATKINSON ITEMS.
YERNE MCDONALD, Editor.
Verne McDonald is authorized to act
aa our agent and correspondent at
Atkinson. He is authorized to solicit
subscriptions, advertising and job work,
and collect and receipt for the same.
Atkinson business men will find Tan
Fbohtibb a good advertising medium,
aa it has a large and growing circulation
in the territory that is tributary to that
city. Any favors shown Mr. McDonald
will be greatly appreciated by the man
agement Editob Fbontieb.
To tlu Atkinson Benders.
Atkinson being the strongest republi
can precinct in the county it is only
$*4' just that she should have republican
newspaper representation, and as the
disposal of the Graphic has repriyed
;V her of that, the . O’Neill Frontier has
assigned this department.of the paper to
' > - her use.
It is understood that this department
is entirely tot Atkinson, and is to be
v ; used for her benefit and advancement
just as fully as if published within her
limits, and I assure you that should I at
any time feel inclined to make any
comments on or about. O’Neill, I should
<%r' do so as fully as if they were to be pub
- lished in an Atkinson paper, although,
of course, It is to be hoped that O’Neill
will conduct herself in such a way that
she will not need any "jacking up." I
, , trust that in the near future Atkinson
will hays a republican paper of her own.

The Boyd county farmers are still
hauling grain and hogs to Atkinson.
They were not long in finding the beat
market, and they are aharp enough to
stay with a good thing when they, have
found it. _
Anton Woaterchiil ia now the cham
pion fisherman of Atkinson, he having
won that title by catching two fine
pickeral Monday afternoon, the larger
one weighing 8J pounds, and the small
er one over 5 pounds.
The Atkinson creamery shipped 68
tubs, or 4080 pounds, of butter last
week. The patronage is incressing and
the butter is selling at the top price..
The management should be compli
mented on their good work.
Strawberries are now ripe, and Jas.

estimates that his patch will yield about
three thousand quarts, and figures that

The base ball game Wednesday, June
9, between the Atkinson and Stuart
"Kid” nines resulted in a decided vic
tory for Atkinson. The Atkinson kids
play a great game, and it would be hard
to find a nine of their size that could
beat them. They have challenged the
O’Neill kids and it is to be hoped that
they will get a game. The score with
Stuart was as follows:
Stuart— 0-0-0 8-1-0-2-2-0—8.
Atkinson—0-6-8-1-2-0-0-2—24.
Mrs. J. £. Allison returned Saturday
night from Omaha where she has been
for eight weeks under the care of Dr. C.
O. Allison, at the Presbyterian hospital.

JUKI uertruae Burleson and Mr. Ben

of the bride’s parents last Wednesday
morning, June 16, at 7:80 o’clock. The
ceremony was a very simple and quiet
one, being performed by Rev. Robert
Blackburn, in a parlor tastefully dec
orated with choice flowers. Only the
immediate relatives of the contracting
parties were present A dainty break
fast was served after the ceremony,
after which Mr. and Mrs. Sherwood left
for a short trip east. Both of the con
tracting parties are well and favorably
known, and have the best wishes of a
host of friends. Mrs. Sherwood is the

Mr. O. Calllouette, druggist, Beavers

Discovery I owe my life. Was taken
with lagrippe and tried all the physic

avail and was given up and told 1 could
not live. Having Dr. King’s New Dis
