For tho information of those who
are Interested In tho building of tho
now court house, 'wo secured tho
following figures from S. M. Souder,
county treasurer. Actual cash has
been collected and paid out for tho
construction work to dato to tho
amount of $107,042.01. There aro
171,307.43 in warrants which havo
been allowed by tho County Commis
sioners but which havo not yet been
paid aa tho taxcB havo not yot been
collected. This amount will bo col
lected in taxes under tho ono mill
levy which has already been author
ized. In addition to tho abovo about
$17,000 will bo collected from the
ono mill levy already authorized.
This means that $175,000 has al
ready beon spent on tho building and
tho commissioners still will liavo
about $20,000 more .to spend when
it Is collected.
A nowspapor controversy over mat
ters that are personal arid of Interest
to tho parties concerned nlono, is to
bo regretted. But tho controversy
over public questions which are of in
terest to ovoryono is ono of the best
means of clearing tho air of charges
and the Tribune offers Its columns at
any tlmo to any responsible citizen
who is willing to sign his namo and
who is not malicious and vindictive.
