Wilcox Department Store N,B. Gpssard Corsets aro tho original front lacing corsets. They aro priced ut from $3.50 to $25 Tho state legislaturo which passed Into history last Saturday, treated tho North Platte experimental sub-station quite liberally; the appropriation not being as large asked, but the funds will bo sufficient to conduct the work eiTec tively. The total amount for the com ing two years was $-17,500; of this amount $30,000 Is for tho general ex penses of tho station, nnd $17,500 is for the. establishment of a dairy farm in connection with the station. This in cludes tho erection of tho nocoBsnry buildings and tho purchase of a herd of cows. This dairy farm has been a neoded adjunct to tho station; the work is nronerlv nart of tho agricultural work of the station, and especially so sine western Nebraska has becomo so largely Interested in dairying. Here in the western part of the state, ns well ns In all sections of Nebraska, dairying is becoming n very Important factor in the formers' receipts; on a majority of tho farms the cream sold or tho butter mado is a monthly receipt that goes far toward meeting tho running ex penses. In fact many farmers who havo nice herds of cattlo largely ac cumulated them by selling cream to meat curront expenses and thereby enabling them to keep tho increase of the cows milked. To Senator Hoagland is due the credit of securing tho appropriation for this dairy farm. Before going to Lin coln Re announced that this measure was one that would receive his tamest work, and through his influence tho ap propriation was passed. Ho asked for $20,000, but it was cut down to S17.50U. In view of tho general inclination of the legislators to cut down appropria tions. Senator Hoagland is to be con gratulated that ho fared so well on this particular appropriation. Local and Personal. Ralph Ford spent yesterday in Suth erland on business.
