NEW COUNTERFEIT $20 NOTE
Another counterfeit $20 note is in
circulation. The federal reserve bank
desci bes it as drawn on the Fed
eral Reserve bahk of Kansas City,
bears the check letter C and a por
trait of Cleveland, with the names of
W. G. McAdoo, secretary of the treas
ury, and John Burke, treasurer of the
United States.
"This counterfeit is printed from
photographic plates, on two pieces of
paper between which a few silk
threads have been distributed," says
the warning. "The pasting together
1 of the maker makes the bill too thick.
It is also about a half inch shorter
than the genuine. The number of this
counterfeit is J2990OOOA. The back of
the note is blue instead of green.
"Altogether the counterfeit is so
plainly a photograph that it should
not deceive those accustomed to hand
ling money." Omaha Trade Exhibit.
