Ben Trice has purchased the Lions property and he and his family are moving in to be citizens of Hemlng ford. That sounds good. Rev. He reports that Mrs. Williams, who has been sick, is some better. On Wednesday of last week a new class begun their Journey through the degrees to become full fledged Odd Fellows. There were five of them. The local lodge now has a membership of over 100 to date. Rupert Walker is noble grand and Mr. Mackler Is vice grand. The in terest in the lodge is good and you miss it if you do not come. McthmiM Ouireli The revival at the Methodist church will begin Tuesday evening, February 24, at 7:30 o'clock. Rev. Charles Gray of lllandonsvllle, III., will be the evangelist and will also conduct the singing. Rev. Mr. Cray comes to us highly recommended and we are hoping that every condition will be favorable and that nothing shall interfere. -- This effort will be for tho public and we will all bo benefitted In pro portion to our individual interest shown. The house will be well warmed and lighted and comfortable and every man and woman will be just us welcome as another no fa vorites. Next Sunday there will be the reg ular services at the morning hour and in the evening Rev. Dr. Newton Wesley Gaines will give his popular sermon on the subject of "The Home." Everybody welcome free. On Monday evening Doctor Galne will deliver one of his famous Chau tauqua lectures- on the subject of "New Wine in New Bottles." Ryan, director of the state economy campaign, and fair price commissioner for Nebraska, Is send ing out quantities of cards upon which complaints may be written by customers. These will be distributed with the aid of the Jobbers. All that a retailer need do Is to hand a card to the customer and invite him to write down his grievance. Mrs. Ryan believes the retailers will embrace the opportunity to put themselves right before their custom ers, and thus focus attention on the real cause. The cards are accom panied by this letter: "You will receive with this letter a number of the consumers com plaint cards. "We send this package with the request that you asslBt in the distri bution of the cards by having your salesmen put them in the hands of your customers. "It is believed that retail dealers will welcome these cards and an op portunity to show their good faith and to convince customers they are co-operating with federal authorities to weed out profiteers. "You realize that high costs ar causing much discontent, that mauy consumers trace the trouble no fui ther than their Immediate handler of merchandise and hold him respon sible for profiteering and other ills of which he may be, and probably is, entirely Innocent.
