The board of county commission
ers met pursuant to adjournment.
Officers present: Geo. W. Duncan,
chairman, C. L. Hashman and J.' M.
Wanek. '
H. M. Bushnell, secretary of the
Alliance commercial club, appeared
before the board and explained the
claim of the commercial club filed
against Box Butte county in the sum
of $ 100, on account of expense in
conectniou' with a soil survey of Box
Butte county, which claim, after be
ing duly considered by the board,
as allowed.
The Board of Health, consisting of
the Board of County Commissioners
and County Physician, Investigated a
complaint made by Mrs. Collins
against Mrs. Victor Thompson, but
took no action in the u atter.
Whereupon the board adjourned
until tomorrow morning. November

ment for the years 18971898 and
1888. complaining that be had re
vived no notice regarding this as
sessment until the year 1915, and af
ter considering .the same the treas
urer Is instructed to accept the
amount of the principal and Interest
to the year 1900, and that assess
ment for the year 1902 In Lawn pre
cinct be cancelled on account of
same property being assessed. In
Box Butte precinct for that year.

Farmers' Agricultural Society ap
peared before the board and present
ed a petition signed by J. P. Jensen
and three hundred and eighteen oth
er taxpayers praying that said board
appropriate a sum of money for the
local support of county agent worn

C. A. Newberry appeared before
the board and aBked that adjustment
be n ade on the personal schedule of
tha Newberry Hardware Company on
account of said corporation being
taxed on Its capital stock, said cap
ital stock covering the real estate of
said corporation and deduction not
hating been made for the total value
of the real estate . assessed. The '
board being fully advised finds the!
facts as stated by Mr. Newberry to be
true, and refund s ordered for the
amount Claimed.
The treasurer Is Instructed to ac
cept the personal taxes of Dr. C. E.
Teter less $500 worth of book ac
counts as shown on his schedule, on
account of same being uncollectable.
A. S. Gerdes complained of the as
sessed value, placed on the Improve
ments on the north half and south
east quarter of Section twenty-four
(24), township twenty-seven (27),
range forty-Beven (47). and after
duly considering same It was fouud.
that the Improvements were valued
too high and refund was allowed for
$19.84.
The official bond of J. O. Donovan,
road overseer District No. 9, Wright
precinct, was examined and approv
ed. Whereupon the board adjourned

and' skipped the country. However,
he was but at Grand Island, being
