Several paintings show the cactus and another shows a rattlesnake den. A deserted adobe houre, old Fort Lowell, snow in Tucson and Bear Canyon are other subjects. The . visitor will appre ciate desert scenes and a scene across the Santa Cruz river. Has Wake Robin Scene. With a promptness contrasting In a gratifying way with the belated publica tion of ths Starch returns, the Department of Commerce has out a statement of April's gold Importe and exports by coun tries of origin or destination. The total of gold Imported during April, as previous ly reported, was ths smallest of any month since February. 1920, and for thte today's statement shoes that decreased er. rlvala of Tranavaal gold from Kngland were tha reason. It appears that 81.864, 004 gold was actually received from Kn gland, from which tt had been supposed hat we got no gold at all laat month, but that aura compares with average monthly gold recelpta from -Kngland dur ing 1921 of 114.(00.000. From the Scandinavian countries, 35. 500.000 gold rssched us In April. This, although much less than, the 123.900,000 whlrh srrived from the same ports In March, shows that remlttancea of the So viet's treesure are continuing. What Is perhaps more Interesting is the etatement that we sent 1774,000 gold direct to India In April. Thus far In May, 12,000,000 haa been shipped from the country to- the same destlnstion.
