Cattle A fair Thursday's run of cattle
showed up ,-vt'out 3,600 head, and the four
days' supply has been t,60d heavier than a
week ago and 3,r,00 heavier than a year
ago. Outside of a few loads the quality of
the offering was rather common, and west
ern grass cattle outnumbered the native
varieties. In general demand for th de
sirable beef steers and cows was fairly ac
tive and prices fully steady, while on me.
dlum and common stuff of all kinds trade
was slow and trend of values lower. Some
choice long yearlings brought $18.00, and
there were no prime heavy cattle on sale.
Best sleers are quotably 1525o higher
than a week ago, and common to fair steer
and cows fully that much lower than last
week. Business in stockers and feeders
was rather quiet, with good, fleshy kinds
firmly h!d and ordinary lightweight tuff
hard to move at lower prices.

Chicago (irnln.
Chicago, July 26. Corn prices showed
weakness today as a result of a favorable
weather forecast. Continued liberal re
ceipts, together with sales to go to store
here, tended also to handicap bulls. Buying
wa of only a scattered sort. Opening prices,
which ranged from o to lVfco lower, with
August, $1.64 to $1.64H, and September,
$1.64 to $1.65',, were followed by a de

Oat wer easier with corn. Trsde was
light, After opening unchanged to lo down,
with August, 69 to 70c, the market under
went a moderate additional sag.
Lower quotations on bogs had a depress
ing effect on provision. Weakness of grain
was also a bearish factor.
