In an official communication received at
the American consulate from the l term an
war office It was statod that there had
been some delsy In delivering; letters and
money to prisoners of war because their
prisoners of war now total more than
(20,000. This communication said thla
matter bad now been thoroughly organ
ised and delay In the future would be re
duced. German war officers recently sent
to their detention ramps a regulation
form of postcard with which prisoners
could communicate with their families.
These cards were printed In six languagee.
At present all communication between
prisoners In either England or Germany
is done through the London and Berlin
postoffice. the letter passing through
Hague without stamps aad money orders
being forwarded without poundage.
