Sheriff Power and Deputy Shorln Jlriach
have raided the pool room at 1409 Douglas
street upon a warrant Issued by the county
court upon the complaint of. I. J. Dunn,
who rharced that V. L. Chucovlch. Ass.
Blnford, Fred Summers, Tat Dennlson, A.
C. Miiy, Fred Dalrymple, Walter Downing
and Jerry Smith were maintaining at that
place a gambling house, and the sheriff was
authorized to seize upon and bring Into
court the divices used In said gambling.' tho
devices consisting of a telegraph ticker
and connections, numerous cards .and
papers used In making out and selling pool
tickets, together with the blackboards so
used. The sheriff failed to get any of the
devices, but did secure all of the men but
Chucovlch. They were admitted to ball In
the sum of $500 each and their hearing wai
set for September 7.

death are nt hand. Mr. Beebe Was at one
time traveling representative of The Bee
and had numerous friends In this city and
state. While a resident of Lincoln In tho
employ of The Bee, Mr. Beebe was -very
popular, nnd Mrs, Beebe woe active In so
cial and muclcal circles. , At. the time- of
his death Mr. Beebe was employed by a
Wisconsin firm. . ; ,
