EVA IS LONG ON HUSBANDS
Pretty Brunette Acrobat Tnlka of
Her Mntrlmonlal Ea
cniindes.
If pretty Eva Mouletl has two husbands
alio swears she doesn't know It.
Eva Is tho little brunette who assists the
Orlskany brothers In an acrobatic turn.
Sho is charged with having tuoro husbands
than sho really ought to have.
Last week tho Orlskany trio was in Kan
sas City und Eva met William Henderson,
tho son of Assistant Fire Chief Alex Hen
derson, and tho story goes that the young
people became so infatuated with each
other that they were married before they
had known each other twenty hours.
"Married to Henderson!" Eva exclaimed
when charged with having taken on a team
of husbands. "Well I gueBs not that is,
unless I was dopedl I don't remember any
thing about it."
"Well, you havo ono husband!"
"Yes, I'vo got n, husband somewhere by
the namo of Irwin Francis," the vivacious
acrobat replied.
"Francis Is a theatrical manager, Isn't
he?"
"Oh, bo's a little ot everything he
oughtn't to be. I married him four years
ngo and I haven't seen him for four years,
and don't know what has becomo of him
When further information was sought
concerning Eva's marriage with young
Honderson fho little woman frankly ad
mlttcd that she met the mnn once In Kan-
sus CIU.
"But if I'm married to him I don't know
It," she explained, "I nover saw him but
ouco und I'vo heard all the tales about how
we woro married at a Justice's office. If
they'ro truo I don't know anything nbout
them."
Eva Mouletl has goo-goo ryes which
would melt an older heart thun that of
young Henderson. Sho has a wealth of
brown hair done up Zaza stylo and topped
off with n picture hat that extends several
feet In front of her faco aud displays a
great cluster of American Beauty roses. A
white raglan coat nnd enough diamonds to
fill a wheelbarrow complete this stage per
son's rathor striking street costume.
Tho woman's real namo Is Eva llalll
day nhd her homo address is 40 East
Thirty-third street, Chicago. Her affair
with young Henderson created quite a stir
in Kansas City and caused consternation
in tho Henderson .family. Chief Honderson
pursued tho young couple to tha Justice
shop, where the ceremony is said to havo
been performed. Eva and her now love
fled through a side door of tho Justices
office nnd escaped pareutnl wrath. Hen
derson's parents forbade his accompanying
his wife when she left Kansas City to come
to Omaha,

covered a period ot fifteen years.
It was tho easiest monoy the treasurer a
row has collected In many a day. The van
nt tho door ot office buildings spoko so elo
quently that no further persuasion waa
nccessnry. Interested crowds of men and
boys followed tho van as it worked Us way
north on Sixteenth street in tho hope nt
seeing somo trouble when an attempt wns
mado to strip nn office of furniture.
But tho onlookers wero doomed to dis
appointment. Merchants, real cstnte and
professional men nllko wero unwilling to
havo any unsavory advertising nnd mndo
haste to rid themselves of the tax collec
tors. In tho ntternoon the van Btarted on Its
work north of Capitol avenuo and worked
o Cuming street. It was Impossible to get
statements mado out for all the delinquents
living along the course traversed" and u
return trip was mado later to call In
taxes which aro listed In letters tho depu
ties havo not been ablo to tnbulnto as yot.
Ilriinlnas Is Drtlglitril.
City Treasurer Hcnnlngs Is delighted with
tho success of his new plan. In discussing
It ho said:
'I supposed that we would have a van
loaded with furniture before wo had gono
a block nnd had additional vans In readi
ness so there would bo no delay. People
seem to reallzo that I am In earnest about
this matter and do not propose to allow
taxes to ruu along from year to year.
'Since tho van went out we havo had
fifty Inquiries from taxpayers who live
along the prospective courso and hundreds
of dollars havo been paid In at tho office
besides tho money turned Into the bands
ot tho men who have tho statements. So
far our calls have been mostly upon pro
fessional men who were'ablo to pay their
taxes, but thought It unnecessary. As we
get further nway from the center of the
city the collection of taxes will probably
be more difficult aud It will bo necessary to
levy on goods. ,
"The work will not stop until we have
collected every cent that la coming to, the
city. It Is tlmo that people coma to a
realization of the fact that taxes must bo
paid and I know of no better way of bring
ing tho matter to their attention."

General Charles F. Manderso'u continues

Senator Howard Baldrlge Is convalescent
now and traces of the feven manifest them

perature, rises to nbout 100, His physician
and attendants arc much encouraged, bow

will como in a very short time.
Fred Metz, sr., remulns In about the same
condition as he has been in for soverol
days. Thoro Is no change for the better, but
ho seems to be holding his own and Is not
losing what llttlo strength be has. The
fact that the aged patient does not grow
worse lends his family and friends to be
lieve that he may yet take a turn for the
better.
