Houston In Dual
BY JAN SACK
Nebraska tracksters topped
Houston 82-36 in a dual meet
In Memorial Stadium yester
day afternoon as both teams
prepared for the Drake Re-
lysa this weekend in Des
Moines, I. v
Six meet records tumbled
and one stadium record was
set during the afternoon as a
small crowd of spectators
watched.
One of the most stunning
performances came in the 440
yard run as Husker Gil Gebo
span the event in a record
shattering :48.0. Gebo topped
teammate Dick Strand in
erasing the old mark of :4S.6
set by Danny Frey of Houston
la 1960.

home the victory in 3:18.5.

in :9.8 and the 220-yard event
in :21.7 for two new marks.
The old century record of
09.9 was held jointly by An

PTP Cricketeers
Upset K-State
In Victory, 70-67
In their first game over the
weekend the newlv formed
Nebraska University PTP
cricket team scored an upset
victory over a strong Kansas
State 11 in Manhattan by a
slender margin of three runs.
Winning the toss the Nebras
ka skipper Ashan Baquai
chose to bat first and the team
scored 70 runs for their ten
outs.
K-State, at their turn.
scored 67 of the required 71
runs after six outs. However,
due to the fielding and bowl
ing (pitching) bv Dennis Kev
in (six dismissals) and Bader
Basrai (four dismissals) the
remaining four outs were ob
tained without any additional
Kansas scoring, leading to a
narrow Nebraska victory.
PTP team manager Hem
Tiphis called the game "a
thriller." He congratulated
the players for their
behaviour and added that he
expects a better average in
the coming game against the
RAF.
