To Serve Campus
The Student Union is the only or
ganization on campus entirely de
voted to the student social life. Be
sides sponsoring light entertain
ment such as dances and ping pong
tournaments, the Union also has
cultural activities like concerts
and foreign film series.
Some of the facilities available
at the Union are are ping pong,
checkers, chess games, a large TV
set, a fountain and a snack bar,
juke box, cafeteria, a study room,
a lounge to meet and chat with
your friends, a picture lending
service, a summer job file, ex
hibits and displays of interest to
everyone, a music room, complete
with phonograph and records for
any student's use, and meeting
rooms for student organizations.
A weekly feature of the Union
is the Sunday Night movie. Top

Ag Students
Gather In Dell
Probably the most frequented
place in the Ag Union is the Dell.
Here students gather for not just
chit chat but cokes and hamburg
ers as well. The Ag Union lounge
is another gathering spot where
Ag students find a pleasant at
mosphere to relax in easy chairs.
Another feature of the Ag Union
are the Sunday night movies.
Every Sunday a free motion pic
ture is shown.
The Ag Sno-Ball Formal and the
Starlight Terrace Ball are but two
highlights on the Ag Union calen
dar for the year. The Ag Union,
located in the Ag College Activities
Building, is the social hub of the
Ag campus. It is the gathering
place for all Ag students for re
laxation, snacks, and many Union
sponsored events.
Every Sunday night the Ag
Union sponsors "Pot" Luck with
the Prof" dinners. This is a joint
project of the students and faculty.
The purpose is to better acquaint
students and faculty by bringing
them together in a highly informal
fashion.
- The voice of the Ag campus is
the Ag Rag. Both edited and writ
ten separately from the Daliy Ne
braskan, it features articles of Ag
interest only. It spotlights both
people and events on the Ag
campus.

special dances like the Frosh Hop
during New Student Week and the
Pink Elephant Dance are held
throughout the year.
The foreign film series is a spe
cial event for the Union that is
being enjoyed by more students
each year. For a special price the
students are able to see about sev
en documentary and foreign films.
The films include German, Italian,
French, English, and Spanish films.
For many students it is their first
contact with the better class of
foreign movies.
During the year there are also
such events as concerts, Xhe Spring
and Fall Talent Shows, Pigskin
Parties, bridge and dance lessons,
seminars, forums, book reviews,
and chess and bridge tournaments.
The Christmas season is wel

THE WINNING BOOTH in
last year's Penny Carnival.
Coeds Decorate
Carnival Booths
Penny Carnival, is an annual fall
event sponsored by Coed Counsel
ors. All sorority pledge classes and
organized houses try out for this
event. Out of these, 15 are selected
to participate in the carnival.
Each group has its own booth
and may not spend more than
$10.00 for decorations and equip
ment. First, second and third 'places
are awarded to the booths on the
basis of originality, participation
and audience appeal.
Different games are played at
the booths, such as throwing darts,
bean bags and rings, which calls
for. audience participation.
The Delta Gamma's were the
winners of the 1956 Penny Carnival.
Their theme was ''Hit the Head
lines." The game for their booth
was throwing folded newspapers
into holes on a newspaper back
board. When the newspaper went
through a hole.
