Ethel D. Johnson, '13, whose home
is in Broken Bowi Nebr., visited with
friends at the University Tuesday.
Miss Johnson graduated from the
Normal Training departmen three
years ago, and is now an instructor
in Physical Education at the Univer
sity of Washington, located at Seat
tie, Wash.
Robert Isham of Fort Collins, Colo.
will visit friends at University Place
during the holidays. Mr. Iisham for
merly lived here but the family home
has been at Kearney for several years
He isa graduate of Wesleyan univer
sity. After teaching in the State Uni
versity he went to Toronto and then
was awarded a fellowship at Colum
bia. He is at present head of the
Chemistry department at the State
Agricultural college at Fort Collins

'09. It is stated that Bruce tuner
ton is not so certain that he will
be a candidate for county judge, but
that he may try for a third term as
police magistrate. O. B. Clark, 10,
who has also been spoken of as a
candidate for county judge, stated
yesterday that he had not made up his
mind to make the race for tnai omce
and was rather inclined to remain out
of the contest.

The marriage of William II. Larsen.

today in the presence of about
seventy-five guests at the home of the

and groom, performed the ceremony,
which took place before a bank of

ceremony Miss Alma Hahn sang "Be

accompanied by Miss Mildred Mauck
at the piano. Mrs. Edna Cook played

bride's gown was of white georgian

AUSTRIA WAS ADVISED
No Plea that They Were Not Aware
of the United States' Policy

That the United States, whether at
present adequately prepared for war
or not, is not to back down in its con
troversy with Austria, is shown from
the fact that it is known from official
sources that the United States will
tolerate no plea from Austria-Hungary
that it had not been formally advised
of the attitude of this country when
its rsubmarine commander sank the
Ancona. Reports from Vienna indi
