AUSTRIA WAS ADVISED No Plea that They Were Not Aware of the United States' Policy Will Stand That the United States, whether at present adequately prepared for war or not, is not to back down in its con troversy with Austria, is shown from the fact that it is known from official sources that the United States will tolerate no plea from Austria-Hungary that it had not been formally advised of the attitude of this country when its rsubmarine commander sank the Ancona.
