ROBBED AT LINCOLN
R F Loomis Loses Over a Huntf
dred Dollars
R F Loomisi of Globeville
Michigan -wife and daughter ar
rived in MeCook Saturday morn
ing on No 9 to visit relatives on
Red Willow creek for a while-
Mr Loomis reports an unfortu
nate experience at Lincoln Fri
day night in which he was rob
bed of over one hundred dollars
in cash
He recalls that while passeng
ers were getting on and off No
9 in Lincoln Friday nigM one
fellow came into the section
where he was sitting in the chair
car and made a bluff at looking
for something he claimed he lost
About this time there was some
crowding about Mr Loomis and
some jostling but he did not at
tach any special importance to
the occurrence at the time After
hi arrival in MeCook he had oc
casion to refer to his money and
found that he had been roblied of
all
Owing to the hours intervening
between the time of the loss and
the discovery of the faet there
is small hope of ever recovering
the money or apprehending the
tihdeives The robbery was how
ever reported to the local offic
ials iby Mr Loomis who feels the
less keenly

Thursday Evening Edition
Prof W E Taylor who ap
peared here a few weeks since
and gajve our people and farm
ers a splendid lecture on agricul
ture has sent his analysis of our
soil which The Tribune takes
pleasure in giving to its readers
Moline 111 December 18 1911
I herwedth give you the analysis
of your soil There are three stra
tia each 6 2 3 inches deep weigh
ing approximately two million
pounds to each acre
Potassium The first stratum
contains 79 per cent or 15800
pounds of potassium The sec
ond stratum contains 67 per cent
and third stratum conatins 71
per cent
Phosphoric Acad The first
strailaim contains 133 per cent or
zbU0 pounds of phosphoric acid
the second stratum contains 112
per cent and the third stratum
contains 149 per cent
Nitrogen The first stratum
contains 36 per cent or 7200 lbs
of nitrogen The second stratum
contains 27 per cent and tlie
rmra stratum contains di per
cent
The soil is not acid This is a
very good soil and contains all of
the plant food elements which
make a good crop with the ex
ception of phosphorous I would
suggest that heavy applications
of manure be made
If there is anytliing about tliis

FOR YOUR SMOKING
FRIENDS
An easy solution of tlie matteo
of gifts for friends who smoke
and to whom you desire to give
some slight remembrance is a
box of cigars
In our line of edgars we pro
vide an assortment of choice
goods put up in boxes of twelve
twenty five and fifty This makes
it possible to give a small num
ber of good cigars at small cost
50c 100 and 200 Boxes
Under this plan you cam get
good goods at any price you care
to pay In many cases a box iof
12 or 25 cigars will save buying
a more expensive gift and suit
the recipient better
