rived in MeCook Saturday morn
ing on No 9 to visit relatives on
Red Willow creek for a while-
Mr Loomis reports an unfortu
nate experience at Lincoln Fri
day night in which he was rob
bed of over one hundred dollars
in cash
He recalls that while passeng
ers were getting on and off No
9 in Lincoln Friday nigM one
fellow came into the section
where he was sitting in the chair
car and made a bluff at looking
for something he claimed he lost
About this time there was some
crowding about Mr Loomis and
some jostling but he did not at
tach any special importance to
the occurrence at the time After
hi arrival in MeCook he had oc
casion to refer to his money and
found that he had been roblied of
all
Owing to the hours intervening
between the time of the loss and
the discovery of the faet there
is small hope of ever recovering
the money or apprehending the
tihdeives The robbery was how
ever reported to the local offic
ials iby Mr Loomis who feels the
less keenly

gree which was done in a most
creditable manner every officer
being proficient in the work This
chapter in the extreme southwest
ern part of the state is a credit
to the Grand Chapter The Fra
ternity at MeCook has erected a
temple within the last few years
that a eitv of fifty thousand neo-
ple might well be proud of It
cost about sixty thousand dollars
and is nearly paid for There
were about seventy five compan
ions present at the convocation
from MeCook and surrounding
towns and it was a great pleas
ure to be with them

Potassium The first stratum
contains 79 per cent or 15800
pounds of potassium The sec
ond stratum contains 67 per cent
and third stratum conatins 71
per cent
Phosphoric Acad The first
strailaim contains 133 per cent or

the second stratum contains 112
per cent and the third stratum
contains 149 per cent
Nitrogen The first stratum
contains 36 per cent or 7200 lbs
of nitrogen The second stratum
contains 27 per cent and tlie

The soil is not acid This is a
very good soil and contains all of
the plant food elements which
make a good crop with the ex
ception of phosphorous I would
suggest that heavy applications
of manure be made
