Scales Are Barred to Governor’s Coal _ i.incoln, Jnn. 4.—The T. B. Hord company of Central City, which owns ami operates a number of grain ele vators in the state, has invoked the '■ rath of Governor Bryan by refusing to permit the use of its scales at Cedar Rapids for the weighing of Bryan coal. Eight cars of coal tyave been weighed on the scales through an ar rangement between the Elevator man ager and the Bryan agent at Cedar Kapids, according to the governor, but orders from Central City have gone fortlf forbidding the manager from using the scale* for other than Hord business. I "It looks like a conspiracy In re stiaint of trade." stormed the gov ernor today, after declaring that his agent was temporarily unable to do business for lack of scales. The gov ernor, however, did not state why the Mord company, which is a private corporation, should not forbid the use of its scales by outside companies, if it so desired. > .
