Presbyterians Baek Fosdiek r Reject Overture Protesting Doctrines Preached hy Bap tist in N. Y. Church. Hy ANMM'iainl Press. Indianapolis, Ind., May 23.—With only one dissenting voice the bills and overtures committee of the Presby terian church in the I'nited States of America today rejected the over ture from the Philadelphia presby tery protesting against the doctrines preached by Harry Kmerson Kosdick. As a substitute the committee recom mended to the general assembly that the New York presbytery, which is investigating the Fosdiek case, lie asked to submit ils ilnd ngs to the assembly next year. The Itev. A. < '.ordon McLennan of Philadelphia, tiie only dissenting member of the com mittee, submitted a minority report demanding that the assembly direct the New York presbytry to “take such action as w 11 require the preach ing and teaching in the First Presby terian church of New, York to con form to the system of doctrines taught in the confession of faith." After bearing the reports the assem bly postponed action until later. The Fosd ck ease grew out of a ser mon, "Shall the Fundamentalists "In?" preached by Dr. Fosdiek, a Daptlst minister, in the ftilpt of the New Yo'k church on May :T, 1922. The assembly rejeej.-d a committee tepc.rt on an overture endorsing the 1- ague of nations and substituted for it a resol lit on by the Rev. Murray Howland of Buffalo, N. Y., urging American membership in the world court as proposed by President Hai bug. Hurliugton Is Improving Tracks in Rulo Section - Cpfrl,! OisputHi III Tho Omaha lloo. Rulo, Neh..
