“COMMUNITY PRIDE” JUST AROUND THE CORNER WHO IS YOUR GROCER? YOUE NEIGHBORHOOD GROCER owns his store. He takes an interest in the paving of the street on which you and he live. He takes an interest in maintaining his home in OMAHA and thereby adding value to your home. Your neighborhood grocer takes pride in the development of OMAHA schools and churches. He takes pride in OMAHA, for he has helped to build the city in which you live. He is a PIONEER and BUILDER, and not an individual, manager, or corporation, who tries to reap where others have sown. Brownell Hall subscriptions totaled more than $80,000 Thursday, and “not more than half of our prospect ive subscribers have made their pledges," according to Chairman Bar ton Millard. Thursday s records, which do not include the $50,000 which the general Episcopal Church has agreed1 to give, caused the trustees and executive committee to announce to the cam palgn organisation that “the school's new building will be erected.” First reports from the state arrived Thursday. Bishop Shaylcr spent the day in Nebraska City, and obtained $1,800 in pledges. This was the bish op's first trip outstate for subscrip tions. He expects to obtain several thousand dollars from parishes in the diocese outside Omaha. Ward M. Burgess and Walter W. Head each agreed to double their $1,000 subscriptions If 10 more $1,000 pledges are made. “We re certain to get those two ; ‘doubles.’ ’’ Chairman Millard said. Mr. Burgess said he will give $2,000 more if 10 more $2,000 pledges are made. In addition to his personal pledge," Mr. Burgess turned In a $1,000 pledge from the Burgess-Nash com pany. In team reports Thursday, Mrs. 1 Carl Paulson's team had the largest number of subscriptions. ITollowing are some of the pledges turned in Thursday: Ward M. Burg'***, 91.000. VICTOR fortheperfect breach The most exacting bakers demand and use VICTOR flour VICTOR is rich in high quality gluten—the element that makes a large, round, fluffy loaf—so necessary to good bread, both in the bake shop and in the home. If you still bake your own bread use the flour for which the baker is willing to pay more per sack because it produces bread at a smaller cost per loaf—and better bread, too.
