Mr. Oldham brought in to be weighed, previous to shipping, a very handsome lot of cattle, on Thursday last. The first twenty head weighed 26.100 lbs., or an average of HJOiS lbs. The next lot of 10 averaged 12S1 lbs. Two four year old steers weighed 3400 lbs., or 1700 apiece; 1 heifer, not a year old, weighed GSM lbs. These cattle were all raised in Cass county, and the heaviest in market, raised on hii own farm near Hock Bluffs. Trofessor "Major" d'Allemand, one r Plattstnouth's best and most useful citizens, leaves us this week for Arapa hoe, Furnas county. The Major says he is no Professor any more; Profes sors are cheap, and so we drop that title and wish most heartily and sin cerely that our old friend may find sous strewn in his path, all up and down the Republican valley, if he wan ders there, and that from henceforth all the benignest favors of dame for tune may light on him and his.
