Two fundamental ideas of wor ship stressed in today’s lesson are fellowship with God, and stewardship of life and posses sions. One is not possible with out the other. If you get a man’s attitude toward his possessions, it is not difficult to interpret his attitude toward God. “Our re demption obligates us to our Re deemer.” We can meet this obli gation only as we honor God through our giving. Bring tithes and offerings to his house — our church; give ox your time and tal ent for his service. To be blessed with material possessions is to owe not to own. It is hard for most of us to learn that we are simply stewards of all we posses. But he is no fool who parts with what he cannot keep in order to secure that which he cannot lose. Fellowship with God means fellowship with man. It means giving, sharing and working as opportunities present themselves for service to others. Girl One of Six ‘Sweethearts’ At Great Lakes GREAT LAKES, 111.—(ANP)— Miss Imogene Stephens, an attrac tive Negro girl from Detroit, wai among the six winners in tht “Sweethearts Beauty Contest,’ held here last week. Course I would rather drop in for | a chat in your living room but since that is a physical impossibil ity, this will have to do. The realization of how very much friends mean to one came to me after we had been in St. Louis, Missouri for several months and then returned to Lin coln for a few days. Just the sight of all the familiar faces and their cheerful welcome warmed my heart. The only disap pointing part is that time does not allow seeing all of the folks I would like to. Even the weather turned out to welcome me back. They say I have a bird-sense to |have migrated north in time to miss the St. Louis snow. St. Louis is becoming a bit more 1951.” Entries in the recruit training contest were submitted by the re cruits at the training station. A. R. Jeter, Co. 800, submitted a photo graph of Miss Stephens. Miss Stephens is the second col ored girl to be elected a “queen” in Illinois recently. Another girl, Miss Clarice Davis, 20 year old ' native of Chicago, was electee “homecoming Queen” at the Uni versity of Illinois. Of course I have separated Missouri directions which in no way coincide with the ones I use in Nebraska. I will try to tell you more of my impres sions of St. Louis from time to time. Joe is working as branch man ager for Brandijen & Kluge, Inc., ja firm which builds and sells printing presses. He has a sales territory of almost five states with office in St. Louis. There are five salesmen working the territory and he goes out to work with them. It means that he travels a good deal. He enjoys the work very much, and I have gone along on a few of the trips. Mother Lytle has been quite ill, but is now much improved, for which we are thankful. My sister, Mabel, is also with us. We are living in a large house which was built P .A.P. (Pre Appliance ■ II. O. This causes a few detours in our planning. We will move into more modern quarters after the first of the year. We are appreciative of finding housing at all on such short notice. Come to visit me some day on paper or in person. What kind of things would you like to know about St. Louis, etc? I will tell you about our trip to Little Rock, Ar kansas next time. God be with you ’till we meet again.
