Hunting Seasons With Bag and Possession Limit IMPORTANT: These regula tions were set by the Nebraska Games, Forestation and Parks commission at its Saturday, Sept. 1, 1951 meeting. Here are the species, open*sea son, area open, bag limit, daily possesion and shooting hours, }re spectively: DUCKS: Oct. 19- Dec. 7—Entire state. Daily bag limit, 5; posses sion, 10. Mergansers (Fish Ducks) may be taken up to twenty-five (25) per day. There is no pos sion limit of ducks may include one wood duck. One-half (Vi) hour before sunrise to one (1) hour before sunset except first day of season the hour of open ing shall be twelve (12) o’clock noon: GEESE: Oct. 19- Dec. 1—Entire state. Daily bag limit, 5; posses sion, 5. Daily bag and poSSesion limit of geese and brants is (5), including in such limit either twO| (2) Canada geese (including Hutchins’s or cackling geese) or two (2) white-fronted geese, or one (1) of each. COOT (Mudhen): Oct. 19-Dec.' 7—Entire state. Daily bag limit, 10; possession 10. COCK PHEASANTS: Oct. 26- ji Nov. 25—Restricted area. Daily 1 bag limit, 5; possession 5. Sunrise 1 to sunset. All pheasants taken must have 1 sex identification. Either head, i tail feathers, or feet must be left ] on the bird. See map. The fol- 1 lowing counties or part thereof e are opened to pheasant hunting: 1 Adams, Boone, Buffalo, Burt, c Butler, Cass, Cedar, Chase, Clay, 1 Colfax, Cuming, Custer, Dakota. ( Dawson, Dixon, Dodge, Douglas. ( Dundy, Fillmore, Franklin, Fran- 1 tier, Furnas, Gage, Gosper, Gree- ] ley, Hall, Hamilton, Harlan,;] Hayes, Hitchcock, Howard, Jef- ! ferson, Johnson,, Kearney, Keith, Knox (East of State Hi-way thir teen (13) to the intersection with ;State Hi-way number twelve (12) 'and thence east of a line due 'north from the intersection of 'state Hi-way number thirteen (13) and number (12) to the 'thread of the channel of the Missouri river), Lancaster, Lin 'coln, Logan, Madison, Merrick, Nance, Nemaha, Nuckolls, Otoe, Pawnee, Perkins, Phelps, Pierce, Platte, Polk, Red Willow, Rich ardson, Saline, Sarpy, Saunders, Seward, Sherman, Stanton, Thayer, Thurston, Valley, Wash ington, Wayne, Webster, York, except .for Federal and State sanctuaries and refuges. All other ' counties are closed. GROUSE (Sharptail and Prairie Chicken): Nov. 10-Nov. 12—Re jstricted area. Daily bag limit, 2; possession, 2. Sunrise to sunset. The following counties or parts thereof are opened to the hunt ing of grouse (sharp-tail grouse and prairie chicken): All of Brown, Cherry, Keya Pasha, and Rock counties, and that part of Sheridan county south of the Niobrara river except Federal and State sanctuaries and refuges. All other counties closed. QUAIL: Nov. 1-Nov. 25—Re stricted area. Daily bag limit, 7; possession 7. Sunrise to one (1) hour before sunset. The following counties or parts theerofe are open to quail hunt ing. Those part of Washington, Dodge, Colfax, Platte, Nance and Merrick south of Hi-way 30 and ill of Douglas, Saunders, Butler, Polk, Sarpy, Cass, York, Lan caster, Seward, Hamilton, Hall, Buffalo, Phelps, Kearney, Adams, Dlay, Fillmore, Saline, Otoe, 3age, Johnson, Nemaha, Pawnee, Richardson, Jefferson, Thayer, Nuckols, Webster, Franklin and Harlan, except for Federal and State sanctuaries and refuges in these counties. All other counties are closed. RABBITS: Sept. 25-Jan. 31; May 1-Dec. 31— Entire state. Daily bag limit, 10; possession 10. Sunrise to sunset. SQUIRRELS: Oct. 1-Dec. 31— Etire state. Daily bag limit, 5; pos session, 5. Sunrise to sunset. RACCOON: Jan. 1-Dec. 31, fn ' elusive.—Entire state. No limit. All hours. 1 OPOSSUM: Jan. 1-Dec. 31—En tire state. No limit. All hours. j | DEER: Dec. 8-Dec. 17—Re stricted area. One male antlered deer with fork on at least one antler. Sunrise to sunset. #The following counties are open to the hunting of deer by 1,200 special permittees only: Banner, Morrill, Scotts Bluff, Sioux and Dawes, except Wildcat Hills Game Reserve in Banner and Scotts Bluff counties, Chadron State, Park in Dawes county, and fed eral refugee areas in all open counties.
