The public is invited to attend between the houfs of 2 and 5 p.m. Miss Winifred Winston will be featured soloist along with musi cal numbers given by Mrs. Bar bara Moore, Miss Jean Ivory and the Girl’s Glee club. The Hi-Life club is an organi- j zation of teenagers who meet < twice a month for the purpose of iE furnishing wholesome recreation « for youngsters and rendering a' community service. D. L.’ Lilley of the CME church has been reassigned to the Lincoln areas as presiding elder. W. Johnson has recently returned from Hope, Ark., after spending some time with his father, Mr. W. Johnson who was ill. At the time of Mr. Johnson’s return, his father was somewhat improved. * * * Mrs. Walter Washington and her three grandchildren, Virginia. Di ana and Carlotta spent the week end in Enrvporia, Kansas. * * * Friday evening, October 26th, Christ Temple church will have a fellowship dinner followed by two films to be shown at the church,, according to an anonuncement by Mrs Margaret McWilliams. • • * Miss Belva Spicer and Mrs.) Rwbie Shakespeare entertained the I Melvin Botts, son of Mr. and j Mrs. Virgil Botts spent several days at home last week on a fur lough. He is stationed in Florida. Mrs. Dorene Holliday, Miss Connie Morrow and Donald Mor row were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Botts Sunday. * * * Miss Ida Adkins, daughter of Mrs. Claudine Adkins, celebrated her birthday on October 12th. She had a party in the Urban League lounge. The many guests enjoyed i themselves informally. Refresh ments included ice cream, cake and punch. Ida received many lovely gifts. * * * GORDAN-MILTON Melvina Gordan, daughter of Mr. James W. Riley of El wood, Nebr., became the bride of F. Alfred Milton, son of Mr. William Milton of Omaha on Sunday, Oc tober 14th. Rev. William Lacey of Hastings, Nebraska read the vows at Mt. Zion Baptist church at the 1:00 p.m. ceremony. Mrs. Lois Dungeon was matron of honor and William Riley of Omaha was best man. To Be Host To Career Conference NEW YORK —(ANP)— Three Negro schools have been selected as the sites of a new series of Urban League Career conferences, according to Lester B. Granger, executive director of the National Urban League. The schools are Bethune-Cook man college at Daytona Beach, Fla., which will act as host to the first conference, Oct. 17-19; Tuskogee Institute at Tuskegee, Ala., the second conference in' November, and Virginia State col ege, the third conference in De ;ember. Theme of the conference pro day at the home of Mrs. Edward Qualls. Hostesses were Mrs. Fred Bradley, Mrs. Johnson Keeler and Mrs. Qualls. * * * Mr. and Mrs. James H.
