Visits Brother Mrs. Henrietta Bell has returned to Lincoln after spending two weeks in St. Louis, Mo., with , a brother who is a patient at Vet erans hospital there. POPCORN— Popcorn Kails 2 cups sugar 1 teaspoon 1 cup molasses vinegar or syrup Butter size of an egg Eoil together tiugar, molasses, vinegar and butter. Cook until it hardens when dropped in water. Pour as quickly as possible over 8 quarts of popped corn. Mould into balls. To tint red and green. Divide the syrup in two parts and color with food coloring. Popcorn Corsages 1 C. sugar % t. salt J/4 c. water 1 T. butter 1 t. vinegar 1 t. red food 2 T. light corn coloring syrup 6 c. popped corn Combine sugar, water, vinegar, corn syrup and salt; stir until su gar dissolves. Cook to very hard ball stage (265 degrees). Remove from heat; add butter and color ing. Reserve small amount of syrup for fastening wooden skew ers. Pour over popped corn, mix ing constantly. Form in 2 inch balls. Dip skewers into syrup; push into balls. Back with a lace paper doily and cellephane cir cles. Tie cellophane bows. Makes 16. CANDIES— Christmas Caramels 2 cups sugar syrup 2 cups light 14 lb. butter brown corn 1 pint cream Sugar syrup, butter and V2 cream in pan over fire. (ANP). Former heavyweight champion Joe Louis will return to the ring for the third leg of his comeback, Jan. 3 in Detroit. His opponent will be Freddy Beshore, who has lost his last two fights. This fight is said to be for the purpose of continuing Joe’s payments on back income tax. He is reported to have turned over purses from both his title bout Ezzard Charles, the present cham pion, and Cesar Brion to the bu reau of internal revenue.
