Renew wrapping ribbons by applying Clear fingernail upolish to the ends to prevent raveling. Wash colors separately. Cover them with waxed paper and iron them back to like-new crispness. A handy pin cushion for the wrist can be made by sewing the ends of an elastic to a small pin cushion. It’s handy when pinning down patterns or pinning up hems. m Mincemeat surprises may be made by placing a teaspoonful of mincemeat on a circle of cookie dough, and placing another circle on top. The edges should be pressed together before baking. Sprays of white pine or red cedar -tacked on a wood base in which a candle is inserted will make an attractive Christ mas candle holder. Instead of discarding Christmas cards, put them into a scrap book which the youngsters of the family can enjoy the year around. Or save them for a shut-in day ana let the children paste them In the book. If pecan nuts are soaked overnight in water, when they are cracked the nut meat comes out whole. ChhristmjM Wreath Ha lad. 1 pkg. strawberry gelatin 1 eup boiling water Juice of H lemon 1 eup diced celery Vt cup crushed pineapple, drained 1 cup thick cranberry sauce Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Stir In lemon Juice Clifli until partially set. Fold in celery, pineapple and cranberry sauce. Pour into 1 $4 qt. ring mold. Chill. Unmold on lettuce. Spoon creamy fruit dressing in center. Yield: Six esrvings. Creamy Fruit Dressing % cup sugar 2 tablespoons flour 2 eggs, beaten t tablespoons oil Juice of 1 lemon Juice of 1 orange 1 cup pineapple Juice 1 eup heavy cream, whipped Mix sugar, flour and eggs together In top of double boiler. Blend tn oil and juices. Cook over gently boiling water until thickened. 10 minutes, stirring con stantly. Cool. Fold cooled mixture into whipped cream. Add garlic, chili powder, paprika and tomatoes. Cover and cook slowly for 1 hour. Add cooked beans and cook long enough for them to heat thor oughly. Serve on boiled rice, if de sired. 6 servings. She plans to be gone about a month. * * * Mrs. Warren G. Wiliford, 712 No. 22nd entertained her little daughter, Mary Ellen with a birthday party. She had five guests and this was her second birthday. Later in the evening at 8 p. m. she had a birthday party for her husband. Nineteen guests were present. * * * Mrs. Margaret Brown was re cently elected to the Pi Lambda Theta National Honorary Society for women, dedicated to the con ception of education as a profes sion for women. * * * James Wadkins was called to Denver Tuesday of last week to attend the funeral of his daughter. He returned Friday. * * * Little Charles Bonds, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Bonds, was fea tured in a piano recital at the city library last week. Charles will play several numbers at the Christmas program Sunday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. * * * Mrs. Cordelia Jennings has ac cepted a position in the Boxing factory in Havelock with the Lin coln Farm & Home News. She is working in the assembly depart ment.
