Mr. John Irving is also very ill. We are happy to report Mrs. Edward G. Craft home and much im proved. * * * * Mrs. Jamie Norman was the guest of her daughter, Ruth, the past week-end at the Internation al House. * * * * Mr. Henry Harris underwent an operation, on Saturday for ^appendicitis. “ Mrs. Eva Smith was in Grand Island last .week as the house guest of Mrs. Geneva Lewis. ♦ * * * Mrs. Jewell Kelley will spend about ten days with her daughter Barbara at Langston University during the Easter vacation. * * * * Mr. Alonzo Adams who is still a patient at Lincoln General Hospital is reported resting very well. Mr. Adams lives at Ne braska City and has been at the hospital for sometime. A surprise birthday party was ^given for Rev. Trago O. McWil liams Jr. Wednesday night, after their regular meeting at the parish. * * * * V, Mr. and Mrs. John Irving had a party Saturday. The nineteen guests were served lovely re freshments. * ♦ * ♦ , Misses Joyce Dean and Con stance King of Omaha, students of Mrs. John S. Favors, were her v guests over the week-end. * * * * Rev. and Mrs. Trago T. Cc Williams Sr. will leave Friday morning for Kansas City, Kansas where he will pastor the Christ $ Temple Church of Christ (Holi ness). * * * * Mrs. Melinda Estes entertained the Alpha Phi Alphi Fraternity Sunday, March 30 as the mother to the Alphas. The “big brothers” who were entertained by their “little brothers” were: Mr. Taylor of Cleveland, Ohio, Industrial Secretary of the Ur ban League of Omaha; Mr. Say bert Hanger, attorney of Omaha; Mr. Robt. L. Myers, mortician of Omaha; Mr. John Simms, Gov ernment Chemist of Omaha; Mr. Lynnwood Parker, student, Ne braska University, Omaha; Rev. John S. Favors, teacher of Omaha Minister at Lincoln. The “little brothers” were as * follows: Mr. Ira Gibson, student, Lincoln; Mr. Earnest Cruder, student, Lincoln; Mr. Henry Mc Williams, student, Lincoln; Mr. Charles Goolsby, student, Lin coin; Mr. Bernard Grice, student, Omaha; Mr. Welcome Bryant, student, Omaha; Mr. Eugene Harrison, student, Omaha. * * * * Miss Thelma Kinch^low came to Lincoln Saturday with her art class from Hastings College. She was accompanied by her two brothers, Mr. Lloyd W. Kinche low and Mr. CannonKinchelow, also students of the college. They were guests of Rev. and Mrs. Melvin Shakespeare. The Kinch elow’s home is in Denver, Colo. * * * * Mrs. Wm. Bryon Davis was called to Manhatten Monday by the death of her uncle, Mr. Har rison Fulghen, who has been ill for two years. * * * * A small but appreciative audi ence enjoyed a very interesting program at Mt. Zion Baptist Chruch Sunday afternoon. The occasion was “Woman’s Day.” Many good points were outlined by the able speakers, and the musical selections were no less enjoyable. * * * * Mr. and Mrs. Walter Young left Wednesday for St. Joseph, Mo., to attend funeral services for her brother, Meredith Lee, who died in Washington, D. C. Mr. Lee is survived by three sisters and one brother. Funeral ser vices were held at 10 o’clock Thursday morning. * * * * Mrs. Elbert Fields, 916 P St. and granddaughter, Clarice, left Monday morning to visit friends and relatives in Bastrop, Texas. Clarice is the daughter of Mrs. Marie Robinson. Enroute they stopped in Kansas City, Mo., to visit Mr. and Mrs. Leo Clements. * * * * * This was “homecoming week” for the Frank Wilkins family. Their son, Leon, returned Satur day from a visit in Tulsa, Okla. On Monday, a daughter, Mrs. Stella Crump, came from Mem phis, and Mrs. Wilkins sister, Mrs. N. J. Acceturi arrived the same day from Columbia Falls, Mont. Mrs. Crump’s husband, Ran dolph joined her Tuesday even ing. * * * * Mr. and Mrs. John Miller and Mrs. Fawiltelle Baker and son, Charles will be guests at an Open House given by Frank O’Neil. Mrs. Baker will be the house guest of Rev. and Mrs. C. C. Reynolds. * * * * Mrs. D. L. Shakespeare arrived Thursday from Parsons, Kansas to visit her son and wife, Rev. and Mrs. M. L.
