Novotny Family
Holds Reunion
at Omaha Park
Gathering Honors Mr. and Mrs. James
Wooster and Daughters of Wind
sor, Mo., Here on Visit.
The beautiful Riverview Park in
Omaha was the scene Sunday, Sept
ember 6th of the third annual re
union of the Joseph Novotny family,
one that settled in early days in
this community and have made a
large place in the history of Cass
county. The occasion brought all of
the children except one daughter,
Mrs. August Kopp of this city who
was unable to attend with her fam
ily.
The occasion was one honoring
the visit of Mr. and Mrs. James
Wooster and four daughters of Wind
sor, Mo., who have been visiting at
the home of the latter's parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Joseph Novotny, Sr., of this
city and relatives in and around this
city. Mrs. Wooster was formerly Miss
Kathryn Novotny and she and her
husband both have a large circle of
friends in and around this vicinity.
The beautiful spacious grounds of
the park and where with the cooling
breeze it made a most pleasing set
ting for this splendid yearly event.
Everyone came with well laden bas
kets and the dinner served at the
noon hour was the main event of the
day and the tables, being very at
tractively arranged with the many
tastefully prepared viands, made a
fitting climax of this reunion. The
tables which sat over the shade of
the park were soon filled by the
family group and the dinner which
was served in cafeteria style was
most heartily enjoyed by everyone
present.
The day was spent in visiting and
the meeting of the members of the
family and who found a great pleas
ure in the get-together. They also
enjoyed the various amusements
which the park had to offer.
With the coming of the evening
after a day of great enjoyment the
happy group made their way home
until next year when they all hoped
to meet again for another jolly fam
ily reunion. The group this year
only comprised some twenty-four
members and hoped that there would
be more represented next year.
The affair was planned by the
Novotny children and much credit is
due them for the care they took to
make this reunion a splendid success
and one that was thoroughly enjoyed
by all those who were present.
The members of the party were the
children and grandchildren of Mr.
and Mrs,- Joseph Novotny ,Sr., resi
dents of this city for over a half cen
tury and who had a largo part in
the development of this portion of
Cass county.
Those present to partake of the
pleasant event were: Mr. and Mrs.
Joseph Novatny, Sr., Mr. and Mrs
Joseph Kvapil and children, Joseph,
Maria and Francis, all of this city,
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Novotny, Jr.,
Mr. and Mrs. Anton W. Vetesnik and
daughters, Margaret, Lucille and
Jean, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Stanek and
children. Dean and Betty, all of
Omaha, Stanley Hall of Bellevue,
Nebr., and the guests of honor Mr.
and Mrs. James Wooster and daugh
ters, Vivian, Kathryn Ann, Gertrude
and Jean Ruth of Windsor, Mo.
The Wooster family departed for
their home in Windsor, Mo., early
this morning.

resting easier at the last reports but
will probably have to remain at the
